Palathadric Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I'm not sure if I said this before (I wasn't paying attention well before), but this battle is boss-level hard. What the hells. Party Members: check my Battle Orders to see if you like my plan. If not, I'll think up a new one. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Just wondering, why should we seal Gontzo. I would think it better if I were to Seal one of the others since Gontzo seems like somebody we would take out at the end when Petrification is not a terrible thing. I would think I should use my scroll if I fail and otherwise attack Reg while you put Gontzo to sleep, but all's good. Quote
Myrddyn Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) Seems to me we should blind Gontzo. Erik might wake him up with a frenzy if he's asleep, and it looks like blinding prevents free hits anyway. Quote from FAQ Q: How do the effects differ when applied to enemies? A: Not all effects work the same way as they on heroes when they are used on an enemy. Here is a comprehensive list of the differences: Asleep - The enemy is unable to act for three rounds unless it is woken up by an attack. Fast Asleep - The enemy is unable to act for six rounds unless it is woken up by an attack. Blinded - The enemy misses on every DAMAGE rolled for it for three rounds. This also applies to Free Hits. PsyKater Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Regarding the expert class discussion. I am rethinking over and over what classes would fit for Amma. Alchemist - Yes, because you can link it to magic and it is just a great class Beast Warrior - Yes, if there happens something with the belief of the dwarves where Amma comes from (The Legend of Læða). Cannonneer - No. Amma using a gun seems weird. Chi Monk - No. Just combine Gimli and Jackie Chan... Dragoon - No. I bet Amma is afraid of dragons. Harlot - Definetely yes. Right? Infiltrator - Sneeky dwarf? No. Minstrel - Please no. I don't want to hear Amma singing. Necromancer - No. Skirmisher - No. Amma is solitary or a leader. Regulator - No connection to Chaos. Winged Warrior - No. Amma is afraid of Heights. And well, the Advanced Classes. Since I realized that the Wishing Wand requires solid hits to work (and not just spells), I am torn between three choices again. I think I have to roleplay more and let Amma decide which path to choose. Quote

Quote from FAQ Yeah, Blinding probably makes more sense. I actually don't know how Sleeping would benefit in any way over Blinding in a battle like this. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) Yeah, Blinding probably makes more sense. I actually don't know how Sleeping would benefit in any way over Blinding in a battle like this. Well, I was sort of hoping Big Red would count as "Not Standing." if he was put asleep, but you're right for the most part. Feladorin should still be fragile. Disenchantment removes positive effects. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited July 23, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

In fact, there are some advantages of Sleep. Namely it works as Blind and Seal. Get ready to meet the big bad wolf, mister Red. Sweet dreams... ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I don't know what Class sarge embodies....... Quote
Kintobor Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I don't know what Class sarge embodies....... Sarge has no class, he's a black knight. Canooner might work well with Sarge. I can't see him as a dragoon. Quote
Scorpiox Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I believe that in many respects, Haldor is pretty much the archetypical Shaman with his inventory and stats build; and I haven't changed the way that I play very much at all since his first quest. Quote
Flare Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Alright people. My epic secret quest that I was working on has unfortunately been cancelled. But that means I'll be able to prepare some other short-lengthed quest. Before I start brainstorming, are there any requests or ideas from people that aren't planning on using their ideas? If so either say here or PM me Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Honestly, at the moment, Shadeaux rep is one of the most highly wanted things. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) I might host a Shadeux quest at sometime. I mean, I have a PC who's father works with the Shadeaux, I'm certain I could work something up. Edited July 23, 2013 by Kintobor Quote
Endgame Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I just proposed a Ziegfried quest, if anyone would like to go on that. Quote

Zepher Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I have a September quest with Shadeaux OR Hinckwell rep. The quest will be 3 battles tops (1 is optional). Quote
Flipz Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I have a September quest with Shadeaux OR Hinckwell rep. The quest will be 3 battles tops (1 is optional). Perfect, means I don't have to worry about overleveling! Quote

Should be done with the fields by then. 2-3 battles sounds great. I intend on getting the Medal of Glory but won't wear it before I go Dragoon. Don't want to hit level 40. Quote
Flipz Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Hehe, it seems like Dragoon is THE single major balancing factor of the Medal of Glory. Quote
Flare Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 It seems that everyone just wants Shadeux reputation and no one actually has any quest plots or anything that they want to suggest. So I guess I'll start thinking myself Quote
CMP Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I'm curious to hear what kind of Expert classes people think we're lacking. I have an inordinate amount of ideas and wonder which would be most sought-after. I notice a lack of healing and magic classes, but nobody seems to be minding all that much when going from Mage to Dragoon. What does everyone look for? Quote

I think that the lack of healing classes is down to the fact that Expert Classes are designed to bring a new, unusual and innovative aspect to the game, and thus standard but more powerful healing or spell-flinging classes are less in demand because they are lest interesting. Good point. A lot of my ideas involve giving players a choice as to what to do (similar to healing or spellcasting rather than just attacking), since it's a lot more fun to strategize with them in mind...but limiting them to just two (like how Sages can't physically attack) or having too many doesn't leave much room. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I think Minstrel covers the healing niche nicely, actually. Minstrel is the definitive support class in my mind. Their whole strategy is to buff the party through songs and heal when necessary. They can still attack rather well actually, but their roots lie in boosting the party through status effects and healing. The problem I think is that it's a minstrel. I think the connotation that every minstrel has to play the lute and frolic like Sir Robin's troupe is rather unnecessary. I actually have a quest in the works where a minstrel joins the group who owns a guitar and rocks out to all of their songs. If you in real life had an option to be a minstrel, who plays songs and buffs the party, or a dragoon, and got a dragon that breathes an elemental attack, gets stronger as you level up, and can eventually carry the party, which would you pick?
