I'm not sure if I said this before (I wasn't paying attention well before), but this battle is boss-level hard. :laugh:What the hells. Party Members: check my Battle Orders to see if you like my plan. If not, I'll think up a new one.

They are kind of bosses - as in, it's probably the hardest battle of the Quest.

I think the issue of the "embodiment" thing is the fact that Expert Classes are generally far more specific roles then advanced classes - and unless your character perfectly fits a role (Sorrow as Necromancer, Alexis as Harlot (possibly?), Karie as Minstrel, etc. ) It can become a bit difficult.

I could easily see Karie go Necromancer if she became corrupt enough in a vain effort to resurrect her sister.

I think people need to find ways in which they can jump into a class. Karie does have a reason besides "it was the only thing available" for going Witch which I haven't stated yet, but it does tie back to 70 (like everything else does at the moment )

As a side note, I'm looking through the song list for Minstrel and have a few ideas for actual songs Karie would sing when used, similar to how some of our mages have actual spells they use when a certain number is rolled. Of course, and I'm trying to make them relevant to Karie in someway, and all from musicals, but that's not necessarily the case with some.

Nanny's Lullaby: Hush Now, Quiet Now (MLP:FIM)

Ballad of Bravery: Do You Hear the People Sing? (Les Mis)

Love Serenade: Maybe This Time (Cabaret)

Hard Rock Anthem: Super Driver (English Ver.) (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

Any ideas for the others?

Any Les Mis reference is a good reference.

I'm trying to figure out how to work Bohemium Rhapsody into that list, but nothing's coming to me.

Dirge of the Phoenix would work for Bohemian Rhapsody. I was also thinking of using Let the Sunshine In from Hair, one of the few songs I really love from that musical.

Ooh! I'll put my minds to that tomorrow.

Let the Sunshine in is a Great one for that!

I hope you mean the Sweetie Belle version!

I'm trying to put enemies to sleep, not stir up all the chickens in Eubric!

I also noticed the longest song, Dirge of the Phoenix, which will probably be Let the Sunshine from Hair consumes the most ether, while Nanny's Lullaby, or Hush Now, Quiet Now is the shortest and consumes the least ether. Neat!

Actually, I'd prefer Those You've Known for Dirge of the Phoenix, it's absolutely perfect for that function. (Actually, that might be a good Arthur song... :look: )

If not, though, All That's Known would be a good Esoteric Melody.

In any case, you have to use I Believe for Angelic Aria. It's just too fitting.

I'm also trying to figure out where Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind can be slotted in.

...I may have a bit of a fixation on Spring Awakening. I guess I can try for some good songs from Sweeney Todd later.

Also, request: At Christmastime, you switch all the songs to Christmas carols.

Ooh, Mama Who Bore Me (reprise) would be a good Angelic Aria if done live...not so much in text, though. :sceptic:

I'll have to look those up. I heard Spring Awakening is really good, but haven't heard the soundtrack. I was considering doing something from Jesus Christ Superstar for Angelic Aria, potentially Superstar (my favourite musical no less, anyone wanting to know why can pm me )

Also, yes, I must now change my repitoire once the holidays roll around.

Allow me to Remedy that for you (like I did through all of Quest 70--looking back, at least a quarter of my non-Scroll actions must have been "uses Remedy on X" ): behold, a playlist of all of the songs from Spring Awakening (do see it live, though!):

Also, PERFECT song for Lucky Chant:

I was lucky enough to see it in Stratford a few years back, orchestra seating. I rarely say that something was amazing or awe-inspiring. I did for that one occasion after the show.

As well, song ideas. Sandy has said that songs can be created by QMs, but I at least haven't seen them yet. Any chance we could see some songs get produced? Any ideas for songs?

Well, there aren't any Minstrels yet.

I've started to try to consider the advanced classes as far as drops go. I've dropped a nice necromancer specific item, and created something for Alchemists I hope to see later (it doesn't look like anyone will be killing Ladybug for it). I think once people start to show more interest and we see the classes in action we will know what buffs they could make use of.

BD, already ridiculously good pictures. I hope to, by my finale, have pictures close to where your's are (if in my own style).

Also, my finale is starting to come into some serious planning!! I'm getting excited. Only 6 quests left after 72 in my story. Sounds like a lot, but I've already worked through more than that.

Doesn't mean we can't prep them.

Items specific to a single class have been thrown out before they were brought in. I remember a Necromancer specific item being dished out before we had any expert class characters, why not dish out songs as well? Make the songs entertaining too.

Instead of scrolls we could use scripts with new songs. :classic:

Thanks. I hope the sunset horse riding shot turned out okay, not too fake. That's probably already one of the most complicated shots I've done for Heroica. The lighting was going to make it very hard to do in Photoshop, so the motion blur is something like a six second exposure at f/16 in low lighting, and then the set is on wheels and I'm dragging it and nudging the horse at the same time by hand. Then because the blur is already done in camera, compositing the sky became a combination of the wand tool, the pen tool, the lasso tool, and a blue channel-based mask like you might use with hair.

As for Minstrel, I'll be happy as long as someone gets the Imperial March and the Nazgul Theme in.

Neba-bitham-ma -gana-nane. Netab -daur!

Now that's music.

If I ever host a minstrel, I'll have some good songs picked out... :sweet: Actually... I might do it even if there are no minstrels on my next quest...

I was just thinking of suggesting Duel of the Fates

Kha-rah...mah...tah.... Kha-rah...rah-tah-mah....

It's a similar effect to the Nazgul Theme, but I think somewhat lessened since even watching Menace, you get the suspicion or the sense that the words don't actually have anything to do with the action in-universe whereas the execution of Fellowship and the way Tolkien fleshes out and presents his languages means that the words feel authentic. (Although Naboo as a whole feels very Earth-like, so not totally Williams' fault.)

But in this case, the Duel of the Fates might be better as Minstrel music because it doesn't have as much of a strong emotion. Duel of the Fates seems to be epic and exotic, while the Nazgul Theme is just purely evil.

And of course in the case of Heroica, there's no reason that both Sanskrit and Adunaic can't exist in-universe.
