Palathadric Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 How about this fix: QMs, this is a personal request/plea. Do not drop items with SP higher than 5 from now on. Ever. Just don't do it. Do THAT sparingly. SP 2 or 3 is great. Do that. Give it a few months. It should even out. No high SP artifacts I absolutely agree with. I think shields with high SP is fine, especially since 5 SP is worth only 50 gold at the market. Swap artifact SP for extra hitpoints? Say, Heavy armour:SP+5, immune to fragile becomes> Heavy armour HP+10, immune to fragile? As Flipz said though, 1 SP is worth a lot more than 2 HP. I think we should just keep the SP-giving artifacts that are in the game and not drop anymore high SP items, as Zeph said. Quote
Quarryman Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Almost had two in the battle. Then I remembered dropping four Aquamarines might anger the powers that be. (And also maybe took pity on my questies). And unless my math is completely off Skrall will kill it with just one hit or critical hit. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I have to say that Quest #72 is getting very interesting. It's great to read from an outside perspective, but I doubt I'd do very well inside it. Quote
CMP Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 And unless my math is completely off Skrall will kill it with just one hit or critical hit. Oh god, he would. Quote
JimBee Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 And unless my math is completely off Skrall will kill it with just one hit or critical hit. Dammit! Why isn't fire weak against water??? Quote
Tachyon Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 The idea of giving less SP in items is smart but isn't it a bit too late(Cough Cough Yeti Fur Coat) Quote
Myrddyn Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 ...While I appreciate the intention, I've always maintained that SP translates to HP at a MUCH higher ratio than most people think. 1 point of SP is a MINIMUM of 5 HP, MINIMUM. Take two Heroes with identical stats and weapons, give one a +1 HP artifact and the other a +1 SP artifact, and put them against identical foes, rolling one die for both Heroes; you'll quickly see how much difference SP makes compared to HP. (Also note that the effects of additional HP increase along a linear progression, while the effects of additional SP increase along a sharper, almost exponential progression.)... Yeah, at first I was gonna say at least three, but in 69 most enemies K/O Erik in two hits quite easily. I haven't run the numbers, so yeah, could be 1:5. Also, Quest 69, I'm gonna be away with no internet access three days starting from tomorrow. I'm fine with anyone on the quest controlling Erik. Sorry, CMP. Quote
Endgame Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Programmed diversions, Huzzah! SpaceBattle was that thing I was repeadetly mocking Danny for in this thread - I subjected him to it first to see if he could find any bugs. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 OR, how about this: Since foes are getting stronger and stronger, QM's drop very high SP items, but say (Shield: WP:X, suitable for knights only). That way, knights get their value back, and it could prevent the KRS. (Knight-Rogue-Switch.) So if anyone was cheap enough to pull the KRS and go rogue, they couldn't use the high SP they already had. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 May I ask why people are asking for a buff for Knights in the first place? They have their advantage. Basically they have one more item than everyone else, their shield. If anything I would half all upgrade costs for shields, but I don't think just making more complicated rules is going to solve anything. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 It's called Sandy. I don't think he reviews the loot, just the story line and pics. At least I think that is what he did with my quest a looooong time ago. I could be wrong. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I guess to get the value back. In the beginning of Heroica, SP for non-knights to knights was 0-2. Maybe 0-5 before other classes really started getting SP. Now, people, like Benji have 9, and someone like Docken or Sarge has 24 or something. Quote

Actually I could get my SP up to 12 but I'm not willing to give up the artifact spots for so much to be just SP Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Exactly. Non knights can get SP half of what the BEST knights have. I have only 13 I think. Benji can get 12. That's like saying if a rogue can get 100 gold on a hit, I can get maybe 98 or something. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 The hard part is a knight isn't all that effective of a tank, since an enemy can damage anyone who attacks it. As a result, any enemy that is a threat to the tank will likely kill anyone else who attacks it, restricting the only member attacking that opponent to the tank until a sentinel, aura, or guardian angel is rolled. If anything I would half all upgrade costs for shields, but I don't think just making more complicated rules is going to solve anything. I wouldn't say they need a buff, just that other classes are close to rendering their advantage moot. I don't think he reviews the loot, just the story line and pics. Kintobor Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I almost feel we as a community should review said items. If an item comes up that the quest master thinks may be broken, he can post a basic outline, and the community as a whole can point out some flaws and suggestions to make it better, like with the Zap-Tap Badge.
