CMP Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Just added to my wishlist. (And possibly cart soon.) Brass is pretty cool, but it looks more like gold to me, and I personally prefer Bronze. The M1919 looks AWESOME. Quote
the enigma that is badger Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 Brass is pretty cool, but it looks more like gold to me, and I personally prefer Bronze. I was a big fan of the Bronze color as well, but once I compared it to Brass, which is a darker, richer color, my loyalty quickly changed! ;) If you liked Bronze, I'd definitely encourage to order at least one item in Brass. the enigma that is badger Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 Still no Kar98k? As part of this release? No. As part of a future release? Definitely! In the future, why not focus on what IS part of a set of new items and rest assured Will's ALWAYS working on adding even more new accessories to the BrickArms line-up. Yes, it can take time, but that's because Will knows builders expect only the best from BrickArms and he wants to ensure anything new is done right! Quote
Hoboman Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) In the future, why not focus on what IS part of a set of new items ..... While this is a great idea, it is sometimes hard to do. You are shown pictures in the Prototype threads of items and then significant time goes by and each new release you hope to see the items you fell in love with. So yes, I will buy some of the new stuff, but please do not ask me not to keep hope for the items I plan on buying lots of. EDIT: Fixed Typo. Edited August 11, 2011 by Hoboman Quote

I agree, my husband and I have been hearing from a few people who are not happy with Brickarms prototype dealings, some of them have even been mad about it, saying its not fair for Brickarms to tease people the way they do with the prototypes and then never produce them for public sale or take forever to get them out, in fact my husband recently swore off of Brickarms because of this too. the enigma that is badger Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 You are shown pictures in the Prototype threads of items and then significant time goes by and each new release you hope to see the items you fell in love with. I agree To be clear, I only raised the matter as it was the sole content of Joey Lego's post. Yes, Will is more than aware many builders are exceptionally interested in BrickArms accessories, especially those items that have been unveiled to the building community as prototypes. Will has been showcasing BrickArms prototypes for several years now, and overall, he's gotten incredible feedback from the community that they love the ability to give feedback on designs in progress, and that community feedback has been critical in the development of several BrickArms accessories. Yes, producing custom accessories of the quality of BrickArms products does take time, but the vast majority of prototypes do see mass production; after all, Will wouldn't take the time to design and prototype a new accessory if he didn't think it was worth the time! Overall, BrickArms prototypes are just that: designs in progress that will most likely see mass production one day, but are still in development. That development takes time, but considering the exceptional results it yields, I think most would say it's more than worth it! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Beautiful minifig and military equipment! Quote

Enigma; I understand what your saying but understqand from our point of view it angers alot of us when protos are shown and it can take years if at all for some to even show up as actual production runs, and this is what turns us off, we see items we'd like to get and they never show up as production items, just protos forever. the enigma that is badger Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 this is what turns us off, we see items we'd like to get and they never show up as production items, just protos forever. As I said above and the record of Will consistently releasing more BrickArms accessories every year shows, nearly every single item Will designs and prototypes eventually sees mass production. Moreover, with his system for prototyping working as smoothly as it has, official resellers handling the day-to-day management of orders for accessories, and Will now working with an extremely talented tooler who shares his dedication to quality and detail, builders can expect more new accessories from BrickArms at a faster pace than ever before. That's quite honestly all that can be said on the matter, and as I mentioned, I'd appreciate it if the focus from this point onward could be on the newly released accessories BrickArms. Mythos, you're more than welcome to pass on my comments to your husband, Asterios, if that helps to clarify the matter to him! Quote

Big Cam Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Oh that brass color is almost as cool as the chrome set I got a while ago. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 So Badger, one TRON fan to another... Any sign of Identity Discs? *she says hopefully* The new colour looks fab, I know I am going to be looking out for quite a few like that, then again I am also a sucker for gunmetal. Now, when will the UK re-seller be stocked up . Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 This is great news. Looks like Will went with the version 2 ARC. Quote
has a differing opinion Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Cool stuff. I like the ADU guy at the end. I'm also excited about the kar98k. Quote

Mythos, you're more than welcome to pass on my comments to your husband, Asterios, if that helps to clarify the matter to him! I do agree Mythos with the point about turning off, I've began looking at the new customisers coming out, Minifig.cat, Brickforge, Tiny Tatical etc And they seem to churn out Brickarms quality weapondry at a fraction of the time without needing a year long prototype stage, I think instead of Will producing a prototype for every single gun design people ask for, he should take the top 3 most hot topics on the prototype forum and choose those to work on, rather than producing a prototype for say, the E-11 Stormtrooper blaster thats already been released by another customiser dedicated to the Star Wars line, and work on the weapons people have been waiting for, for ever. I do see people buying a few from Brickfairs, but Brickfairs seem to be US based. And I'm not spending hundreds of pounds to fly to America in order to spend another £20-40 on prototypes, then flying back over and finding out the prototype has been completely re-designed into something amazing. I'm not having a moan, I'm just saying, we get promises that 'Brickarms will be churning out items at a faster pace than ever before seen in the entire living history of the humongous universe' but we never see these fast paces, or the 'eventual mass production'. I mean, The Grease gun has been produced by Brickforge already, and I never saw a thread for the ARC that was more popular than the Kar98k which is wanted by so many WWII Mocers, The ARC is similar to guns already made by Tiny Tatical, Minifig.Cat and other various customisers. I think you should keep to the already created prototypes that have been out for at least a month or two, since those are the ones we want. Theres no point producing hundreds of tests if you never get round to the real thing. Again, Not moaning. Quote
the enigma that is badger Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Joey, I've already addressed this issue. All I can say is that builders have made it very clear they're interested in anything new from BrickArms, and regardless of what may or may not be already on the market, Will's talents and skill as an accessory designer mean the resulting accessories are original and distinctive. I'd also point out Will does create the designs for all BrickArms accessories, and that is part of the development time; if he were to ship some rough sketches off to China or let others do the design work for him, not worrying about the overall quality and aesthetic of the parts, he could very likely produce accessories at a faster pace, but that's just not how Will works; folks have come to expect the best from BrickArms, and Will's happy work hard and take the time to ensure that's what they get! The Legonater Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Just wondering- can we expect a restock of old items with these new ones? Both or BrickRepublic's restocks for the minigun sold out before I could get my hands on them. Edited August 12, 2011 by The Legonater Quote
the enigma that is badger Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 can we expect a restock of old items with these new ones? Both or BrickRepublic's restocks for the minigun sold out before I could get my hands on them. Yep, Will's working to supply and resupply all of the official BrickArms resellers, including Brick Republic, with all the newest BrickArms accessories. I can't say exactly when each reseller will be supplied (my own personal experiences with Canada Post were pretty hairy!) I'd recommend you contact Brick Republic or any one else's reseller of choice for specific information for that reseller. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) It is nice to see that the M1919 is only $2 USD! $8 for the minigun is a fair price since it is extremely detailed and it comes with an ammo chain, but it is very costly if you want to buy a lot of them! Of course I got one though, and I probably still would have gotten one if they were twice that amount. But since the Browning is only $2 I can buy a lot of them without the price stacking up! I remember you telling me at BrickWorld all about that. I have made one BrickForge order in my lifetime, and when I opened the package one of the accessories was already damaged! Needless to say they did offer to replace it, but I don't care about a replacement if it is cheap enough that it will break before I even touch it. Tell Will to keep up the good work! randomoblong Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Ahh good. My MOC has been in need of some heavier weaponry, those M1919's should do nicely. :P Quote
the enigma that is badger Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 So Badger, one TRON fan to another...Any sign of Identity Discs? *she says hopefully* Will is still developing how he might introduce the Chakram ID Disc to the BrickArms line-up, but while he more than trusted me folks at various events and online expressed a strong interest in it, seeing first hand at Brickfair how much builders would love to obtain on definitely left an impression on him! Target Head Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 AWESOME! I am SO getting the M1919 Machine Gun with Pivot Mount and Ammo Box and the Heavy Assault Carbine (HAC)! Quote
