operrier Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Here's my second Harry Potter LDD MOC. It's the Malfoy Manor as seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I've made some minor changes from the movie (like the table that is not on the same side) for practical reasons and I used my imagination for rooms that weren't seen in the movie. Malfoy Manor Number of pieces : 2223 Minifigs : Lucius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, Fenrir Greyback, Scabior, Lord Voldemort, Severus Snape, Peter Pettigrew, Charity Burbage Animals : Nagini (snake), bats, parrot, dragons, dinos Scenes : Deathly Hallows Complete view of the front side of the Manor (closed). Another view of the Manor. The details of the entrance. Another view. The right side of the manor (the left side is identical). The back side of the Manor (closed). A view of the roof when the Manor is closed. Notice the piece that has been removed in order to... ... open the Manor! Look how it's bigger now! The interior of the Manor (when opened). That's the entrance. Here's where the Death Eaters are talking with Voldemort in DHP1. The huge fireplace. I'm quite proud of it. Look at those chandeliers, made with ships' steering wheels. Nagini is never far from Voldemort... That's the right side (from the exterior) of the Manor. It's one of the two opening sections. Here you can see the door of the cell in which Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Ollivander and Griphook are in DHP1. Really proud of those stairs too. Took me a lot of time to figure how to do them on LDD! The interior of the cell with a lamp and a skull. Upstairs there's Draco's bedroom with a parrot and a canopy bed! The top of the stairs and the door to Draco's bedroom. That's the left side (from the exterior) of the Manor. Second cell door. The interior of the cell with a small bed. The bathroom... with no bath! But at least there's a toilet! I'm quite proud of that sink unit there... The top of the stairs and the door to the bathroom. A view of the back of the Manor when it's opened. Finally a view of the stairs Snape is climbing in DHP1. It's quite hard to see them when the Manor is closed unless you look from the entrance door. Well that's all for now. If you want to see all the pictures, go on my flickr gallery: Malfoy Manor Moc Hope you like my second Moc because I worked really hard on it. Next Moc I'm planning to do is 12 Grimmauld Place! Here are pictures of the Manor to compare with my Moc: Malfoy Manor Congregation of Death Eaters The stairs Edited August 10, 2011 by operrier Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Brilliant! I couldn't see this as a set, but I'd love to have it! And the parrot... is that in the books or just because?? Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Wonderful! It doesn't look too much like a set if that's what you were going for, but it makes for a great MOC! I especially love the printed shields and the bathroom (not that I think I could go with that suit of armor facing me ). The chandelier and stairs are clever (though I think that there was a similar design for the stairs in Market Street). I only have one suggestion: In the books, Draco had an Eagle Owl (LDD Name: SNOWY OWL), I think that would make a little more sense than a blue parrot, but it's not a big deal. Quote
Skipper Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Great moc, I like the Death Eater "conference room" and the curved stairs the most, I always have problems with angles in LDD. Keep it up ! Quote
operrier Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Brilliant! I couldn't see this as a set, but I'd love to have it! And the parrot... is that in the books or just because?? No of course it couldn't be a set, but I wanted it to be as accurate as possible from the movies, so I needed a lot of space to put everything. The parrot is not in the books, it was just to decorate Draco's bedroom but it could easily be replace by an owl ;) Edited August 10, 2011 by operrier Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Great MOC. I haven't seen the movie in a while so I can't remember what it looks like, but I could picture the Malfoy's living there. Great stairway! Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 This is a stunning creation and I love all the little details like the chandeliers and dino statues on the roof and on the walls! The bathroom is ingenious, I would have never though to use a life buoy as the toilet seat. The opening feature is awesome and the rooms are all lovely with the statues and details. I hope to see more! Quote
Ceroknight Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 A fantastic MOC indeed I can't stop thinking of how awkward it would be to stare at that skeletal knight statue while you're using the toilet. Quote
MrLestrange Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Whow! Amazing! There are so many details! Good job! : :D Edited August 12, 2011 by MrLestrange Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Excellent digital creation 'operrier', the only trick now is to brick-build it eh ? Keep on casting spells and don't say his name ! Quote
K-Nut Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Very nice! I like the size and accuracy put into this. The curved stairs are very nice too. Good work. Quote
