Yatkuu Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Sarah : Logan… are you sure about this ? Dr Logan : Bub is our only chance! Sarah: But… you are feeding him! Dr Logan: Reward is the key, I’m convinced of it now. This vignette is based on the movie "Day of the Dead"... and is built for a contest hosted by Bricks of the Dead. The different lighting of the 2 sides came as an accident... I only had 1 classic flashlight so I used my cell phone led flash to light the "scientists" side. Here is an overall view of the set... Thanks for watching! Edited August 9, 2011 by Yatkuu Quote
Hollander Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Wow, that's cool! The use of the light is lovely, it gives the whole MOC a very unique sphere. The body parts and the spilling blood is nice too. You captured the feel of a zombie lab perfectly. Edited August 9, 2011 by Hollander Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 9, 2011 Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 9, 2011 These pictures are great, looks almost like a shot from a movie scene EDIT: Seems you forgot to resize the 3rd pic. Could you fix that one? Thank you! Quote
brickmack Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Interesting use of light. I like the dirty look of the zombie area. Don't want to think of the source of those arms... Quote
Si-MOCs Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Haven't seen the movie, but that's fantastically built, designed, lit, and photographed MOC! Well done. Quote
Horry Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I haven't seen the movie, but I've followed the contest as I think there not much things on earth that are more hilarious than Lego-zombies I love the lighting and the rooms in this entry, good luck! Out of curiosity: Do you have a fourth wall? Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Magnificent! I love the ceiling light technique... I may have to try it out if you don't mind. I haven't seen the movie, but I'm a huge fan of Bricks of the Dead. Anyway, great MOC! Quote
Yatkuu Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Thanks for the feedbacks! Seems you forgot to resize the 3rd pic. Could you fix that one? Thank you! Oops, sorry about that, it's fixed! Out of curiosity: Do you have a fourth wall? Nope, as you can see from the last pic it's left open on the side. I love the ceiling light technique... I may have to try it out if you don't mind. I borrowed the technique myself from Alex Eyland, you should check out his work (much to learn I still have...) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Amazing! The concept behind the build is intuitive and the fantastic photography effectively highlights the mood of the scene. Simply brilliant work! Quote
kotaco Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 That's awesome. Reminds me Call of Duty Zombies Quote
Ardelon Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 This reminded me of the movie even before I read the text... and I like it all the better for that! A toy story soldier or an Indy Jones Russian would make it even more authentic (if you have those figs or if you were going for authenticity, that is). Quote
Legostein Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Hello! These images create a scary and oppressive atmosphere, and I guess that's what the intention was. Very well bricked and phorographed! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
TenorPenny Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 It's a great representation of the scene, the mood and the speed. Quote
fred67 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Fantastic, very well done... great Halloween Treat! Quote
bootz Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Great MOC! Day of the Dead is my favorite of the series. I remember when I was younger, back in the VCR days, I recorded Top Gun on one of the movie channels and Day of the Dead was on after it and it accidentally got recorded, but what a treat that was! I love the look of your accidental lighting. It really sets the mood of the scene. Quote
