It is interesting to see the models side-by-side (for scale comparison); there are both studded and studless models spanning many years. Maybe he's trying to match Blakbird's collection! Images rarely need to be over 640x480, and any that are over 1MB (including GIFs) are not allowed unless there is admin approval. BMPs are never allowed. Avatar images should be 100x100 (and under 20k if hosted on EB), and may not be more than 400x400 (and 100k, even if hosted remotely). No animated GIFs are to be used as avatars. Before registering, please familiarize yourself with these tutorials to learn how to reduce your own images. Also, when quoting, don't quote images unless it is specifically needed. This just fills up posts with repeat images for no reason. Would you mind checking you follow these rules when posting pictures? Thank you Quote

Out of Sight Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 whenever I see someone's collections of this magnitude in such a broad timespan, the first thing I look for is the 8855 Seaplane! I almost burst into tears when I saw his..I used to own it when I was a dumb kid back in the '90, apparently failed to preserve it, so all the pieces had been scattered, and is currently nowhere within its former glory. but I did manage to salvage 80% of it and looking forward to rebuild it. Anyway, Technic airplane is pretty rare don't you guys think? Lego should make more airplane sets in the future... Quote

I'm also waiting for another. Only problem is they take up a lot of space on the shelf! Quote

I agree, but I don't think the flex system is ever coming back (at least without a significant redesign. It had two major flaws. First is that the cables were very fragile and broke easily. Second is that, like flexible axles, they only came in a small number of discrete sizes so it was often difficult to use for MOCs due to the lack of a proper fit. If only there was some way to make them adjustable..... A pull-pull system using pulleys and string would also be interesting, and is possible using current possible. Marius Postma's Twin Otter used such a system. Quote
