Alec Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) I'm starting a Venice style modular street done this so far for one of the corner buildings: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=479997 I can't think about how to do the doors right. Anyone got any ideas? Ecclesiastes Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 That's looking pretty realistic! Lookinng forward to see it finished! Quote
pacc Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Venice is naturally small scale and should fit a lego moc. Yours is not a residence but maybe a traders magasine. But that only means you can do some luxury house later. Personally I like the backstreet decay where the houses has a lot of texture from centuries of negligence. Did you have a tour in person already? Also I suggest a small chapel in the fashion of the sienna dome with almost zebra-like black and white facade... Quote
Julandrius Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I like where this is going. I like the detailing a lot :) Good job. Quote
oo7 Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I like the colors and the shutters - in fact, I think the lower windows would be better with shutters than the transparent bricks. I also think you should top the columns with capitals. At the moment, they end a little awkwardly. Flickr member d-higdon has some nice examples of the sort of door you need on the bottom of this page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/buildingsblockd/sets/ Quote

Also the Lower doors are arches leaning into a smaller area. Ill post pics later. Edited August 2, 2011 by Alec Quote
