Hi everyone,

I have been lurking around reading the boards for a while now, and thought I should finally post here to introduce myself!

I was a big fan of Lego when I was younger, and remembered how much I'd enjoyed it when I then cleared out a cupboard and found it all when I was about 19 (I'm now in my mid 20s) and loved building all the sets again in order to photograph them for sale on eBay (really wishing I hadn't done that now!).

However, I finally emerged from my 'Dark Age' at 21 when I had an accident which severely damaged my arm and hand. I spent months in Occupational Therapy, which was usually boring and painful, until the lady treating me asked one day if I had any building bricks I could use as part of the exercises. Out came the Lego which I hadn't sold in the clear out 2 years' previously, and I was hooked again!

In case anyone is wondering, my username comes from the fact that the Black Monarch's Ghost set (6034) was both my first, and my particular favourite, when I was little.

Welcome to Eurobricks, GhostFan!

That is definitely the most interesting (and painful) way I've ever heard anyone come out of their Dark Age!

I was also reading the boards for a while before I finally decided to join a few days ago. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Welcome and enjoy the boards!

Hope your recovery went well, at least you're back in touch with Lego again. :sweet::laugh:

Welcome to the boards.. I know what you're talking about...Sort of... I once slit my hand wide open while sharpening a butcher knife and watching my 2 dogs playing in the yard... Not as bad as your injury, but I know where you're at.. May I ask how it happened?

Welcome to Eurobricks. Its always good to hear about people coming out of there dark ages but that sounds painful. I'm guessing LEGO helped you with your therapy.

Ah, the good old 6034. I feel nostalgic about this set too, I got it as a gift (for birthday I think) back when it was released!

Anyway, welcome to Eurobricks, and enjoy your time. I hope your arm is all right now.

Thanks everyone for the welcome :classic:

For those who asked, my arm is getting better, thank you, but still a little way to go with it. Good excuse for building more Lego as far as I'm concerned!
