xenologer Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Got a new one for you. Mobile Command Trailer Since I don't see anything very 'commanding' about it, let's consider it just a Space Utility Buggy. Everything is generally smoother for a more futurisitc style, what you think? LDD download/purhcase Link Quote

LDD download/purhcase Link you seem to enjoy these classic space rebuilds, eh? if there's anything you've proven it's that it is possible to create great mocs based on the older sets! moc on!! Quote
Captain Roger Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 the improvement you made ir really cool...the small wheels looks better than the originals....and being a smaller vehicle it can be faster Quote
xenologer Posted August 17, 2006 Author Posted August 17, 2006 actually, the wheels are the same size, the nose is just bigger I think I've got two main reasons for Rebuilding Space. First of all, I grew up in the M-Tron Blacktron2 era, and went into dark ages just as Exploriens was ending (I missed insectoids, UFO, and RoboForce, lucky me). After coming back though, I found that everything was StarWars and UFO, etc, thus I had to look into the distant past to find anything appealing - Classic Space. While the theme and atmosphere of Classic Space definetly had appeal (2010 Space Oddysey is one of my fav movies btw) I did grow up with M-Tron - Exploriens era, so the construction style was a bit dated for me; thus the Rebuilds, that attempt to preserve the concept of those old sets but use more modern techniques and styling. Secondly, I'm trying to share my vision of the past with others via LDD; I want everyone to see that the Classic concepts are still great, and can compete with the modern Licensed and conflict based themes. If enough people take interest(buy the LDD models now!), maybe TLC will realize that an original Space theme can still be succesful... Quote

I've seen your re-creations, xenologer, but while I admire your efforts the models still lack the certain... how to put it... "it" to make them Space. I mean, they're space, but they're not quite Space, if you know what I mean ;-) Nevertheless, keep going, by all means :-) PS: Where are the real smilies?! Quote
