frogstudio Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Hi to all!!!! I've been organizing my collection during the weekend and decided to grab the chance and picture all my MOCS (some are several years old). I'll be posting them during this week, so, if you're interested in this one, check them out... :) Amongst my MOCS is this cathedral. Hope you like it. Comments are welcomed...Cheers!!! Quote
frogstudio Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) I really love the trees, great idea! Thanks, but to be fair, the trees are inspired from some trees I once saw in Brickshelf (I can't remember the author of them to give him credit, so, I anyone reading this is the author, please claim the crdit for them!!!) :) Edited July 25, 2011 by frogstudio Quote

The tree looks very similar to the tree at the front of Jojo's Falckenstein. Quote
shmails Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) Very nice catherdral! I really like the windows, the steeple, and the trees (no matter where they came from). If I had one nitpick, it is that the cathedral is so nice that it deserves a bit more landscaping. Other than that, great work! Edited July 25, 2011 by shmails Quote

So most of the credit for the must go to him... Quote
Hoboman Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 While I realize you are being fair to offer credit for the tree's idea to some one else, I think it was great you used them in this MOC. The use of a different tree style and color gives this MOC a nice feel. I also liked your bishop/priest figures. Great use of the whip on the shepherds crook staff the bishop is holding. Great stuff here. Quote
Gabe Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Great stuff! I like yr custom bishop, i'd love to get a closer look at him. The birch trees are very recognisable too. Quote
LandShark Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Very nice MOC, Frogstudio. I especially like the shield with flags above the door, and the whip at the end of the priest's staff. I really need to make a cathedral-like building for my kingdom. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Nice building. I have to say that I don't really know much about Castle sets, but I am curious about the stone work pattern around the Apse, how did you get this effect, is it printed or a sticker or some clever building technique that is not immediately obvious from the photos? I would like to see some close up pictures of various bits. Also are there any inside shots? Quote
buddy Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Great MOC! It looks good has some great details. I too particularly like the minifigs you've used, especially the bishop, he looks realistic. Very well done. ~buddy~ Quote

TheLegoDr Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I really like the birch trees too. They add a nice dimension. But my favorite is the shield/flag set up above the entrance and then of course the graveyard area in the back. I can't wait to see more postings. Quote

Those are pieces that came in some Harry Potter sets (Bricklink entry) and which I got with a lot I won in an eBay auction. They are printed parts. :) Quote
