I built two more cars for my 7725 using spare parts and some items ordered off bricklink :sweet:

They're not 100% done yet, I'm waiting for one more batch of items including some tiles for the roofing. Total cost was about 40 bucks incl. shipping for two complete cars worth of parts.

Nice work, I always think the 7725 is too small. I tend to throw the 7820 Mail Car into it as the 3rd carriage and run a cable from end to end for the lights.

Looks great when it's long regardless of which way it's done.

I added two more cars to another 12V train, the 7745. I don't remember the cost, but I do remember that it was quite cheap (the 7740 on the other hand...).

I bought a full fledged extra car for my 7745 for 35 bucks, but building them yourself can be expensive, especially odd parts like the windows and doors :)

I got hold of a 2nd 7745 too (part of a job lot of train and other lego) and merged it with my first to make a 5 car unit. It looks sooooo much better longer. Only drawback was I then felt a need to lengthen my 7740.... Worth it though

Adding those extra cars finally makes it a train. I always thougth it was a bit odd with those extremely short passenger cars.

But I loved the train. It ran perfectly around my old town. (or maybe it was because I couldn't afford the 7740)

Next task will be to give it front and rear lighting, and see if it will actually run at this length!

I remember running my 7725 along with the 7819 mail car and the 7815 sleeping car, without any problems as a kid. This included front and rear lights and lights in the all the cars. Occasionally I would even have the 7816 Shell car behind the dummy car at the end. This was around 25 years ago so the motor was of course only a couple of years old at the time.

I like your solution Brickaroo, the 7820 mail car is perfect for this set!

I have the mail car for 7740 (two actually, one small one :D), but they are so damn expensive :sceptic:

And I would like to keep this train passenger-only as it will probably be doing short laps on my track, with 7740 and 7745 for the 'longer distances' (soon™)
