I bought a large lot of 12v trains last month and among them was this peculiar train car:

It looks just like the 7819 mail van from LEGO but as far as I know it is not an original LEGO model.

Any ideas? Or is it a really nice MOC that I happened to stumble upon?

The wheels are from the crane! I'll look up the number. This is a custom set (at least part of it!).

Ah, 'Jopiek' you are only half right, that postal wagon is part of an 1985 4.5v train set....set no. 7722 ! :wink:

The axles are meant to be black not red, so you must be right about that. :classic:

And here I thought I had checked all the train sets on peeron for it :) Nice find.

I have both this one and 7819, and I want to sell one and use the other with my 7740, but I don't know which one to keep!

Well, 7722 indeed :) sorry about that... was a bit sleepy I guess, but the wheels with red pins are definately from the car of the container terminal.
