J4ke Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Well, here we go. Space. Wanted to try something different, and this is the end result, after a week of WIPs. Dodgy angles galore, wonky and flowing. I'm very happy with how it came out. My inspirations were: -Space Battleship Yamato (Concept art from a fighter was this colour scheme and even general shape, but that changed as the design evolved.) -Homeworld (Wonky angles and the general colourscheme.) -Assorted other builders and concept art floating around the interwebs. So yeah, tell me what you think. More pics in the photoset. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I really like it. I love the colors. Reminds me of some of the art from a book I had called Spacecraft 2000-2100AD. Good Work in my Opinion. Quote
legodac Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) You really did some unusual things here J4ke, by that I mean methods I've never seen. At first glance with your primary photo, all I could think of was "cool", "nice ship" and "might give scorpion intersceptor a run for it's bricks". Second glance was Hmm?" Those look like parts from a ship I once built" You know I know what you think I mean to be what you did...... That Lego Star Wars ship from Padme's home planet. Awesome creation, and yes I looked at your Flickr pics, how else would I know to speak of perfection? I really like this, and please Sir, when I get around to posting Lusi, please say a few words. *Lusi, Lego Universe Scorpion Interceptor* Thanks for sharing this great creation J4ke Edited July 20, 2011 by legodac Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Very nice angles. Most everything comes together nicely. I'm only not totally sure about the nose; the cylinder there doesn't really flow with the shape of the rest of the craft. Everything else looks terrific, though, and the color scheme complements the shape. Quote
Artanis I Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 If Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime was a G1 Decepticon... Nice creation, looks great all over, except the front doesn't seem quite right. The cockpit is excellent, the wings, top, rear, everything but the front. Maybe it's just the cone. I suggest replace the cone & greeble up the very front. Vivid colours, curious techniques... its shape flows very well. Awesome ship, I love it! I could see a fleet of similar ships in different colour schemes... Quote
Pandasushi Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Love the ship! Great colours and amazing use of angles Quote
apemax Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Very nice ship you have there. It sort of reminds me of the ships from the game Wipeout. Great shape and the colours really suit it too. Well done. Quote
J4ke Posted July 21, 2011 Author Posted July 21, 2011 Thanks for the comments all, glad you like most of it. I knew the nose would take some criticism, but I rather like it, and the design's intentional. Quote
Legostein Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Hello! That's a great tribute to the wedge plates! You've designed a great looking starship with original techniques to realise this particular shape. Well done! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Delta62 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 That is one beautiful ship and the name suits it well. Quote
