GuiliuG Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 After thirty hours of work, I'm proud to feature to you my third wheel loader. This time, it's not inspired from real machines but seems to look like a hyundai : My arm is similar to the one built by M-longer : His brickshelf galery So, here is my model : It owns : -An integrale propulsion, powered by a Xl motor and the reductions 8T/24T-12T/20T-20T/28T. -A articulated steering, controlled by a M motor. There are two racks, one pushes, while the other pulls. The reductions are 16T/20T-linear clutch-worm gear/8T/rack and 12T/12T/12T after the first 8T to change the other 8T rotation. -Two linear actuors which lift the arm, powered by a M motor and 16T/20T-12T/20T(48/100). It's able to lift a battery box ( ~200g) without problems. -A linear actuor for the bucket, controlled by a M motor and 12T/24T (50/100).The speed is very similar between these two functions. The bucket stay in its position when the arm is lifting, thanks to its position two studs before the point of arm rotation. -Rear axle pendular -Openable doors It weights 1kg600 and due to its pendular axle, bundles (?) a little when it moves. The turning radius is better than my last, which is pleasant when playing with it :). And here is the video : So, I have corrected all the problems of my previous wheel loader and i think that i won't build any other intermediar articulated wheel loaders till lego produces new parts ( such as a part which permits to create a planetary reduction). I will rather build small articulated wheel loaders, or crawler loader, or wheel loaders with steered wheels). I'm open to all your comments :) Quote
timslegos Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 wow what a masterpiece! Now you have inspired me to build one as well! tim Quote
GuiliuG Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 I'm happy to have inspired you to build one :) Thanks all ! Quote
P4trickvH Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Looking really great, also nice addition is the PF for driving. How many motor did you use, i can only see one small motor in the back ? Quote
GuiliuG Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 There are four motors, three M and one Xl. The motor you see is used for the steering. If you look carefully, you can see above it the Xl motor used for the propulsion. The two other M motors which control the La are located above the rear axle. Quote
