bricklayer Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) Hi, I found someone locally whos selling this set 4957 It has about 12 pieces missing but it stands on its own and works(the electronics are fine) Price is $15. Is it worth it? As well..............they are selling 3000 pieces for $15. Is it a deal to get both? Thanks, Edited July 16, 2011 by bricklayer
Mythos Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 2 questions to ask yourself: 1: what pieces are missing? and the question that will decide your mind is, do you want it? If buying for yourself and it has the motor, good buy, if bmissing motor, very iffy buy, unless buying for yourself, if buying to resell, very iffy. if no motor then definately not.
Mrlegoninja Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Buy the first if you are just a collector. Buy both if you are going to scrap them. I guess its up to you what you want to do with them.
snefroe Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 well if you like the set and the missing pieces are easily replaced, then $15 is a good price, i guess... $15 isn't a lot for 3000 pieces. i'd buy it, if the parts are in a good condition and the parts are useful. in any case, $15 is cheap for that many parts
airsoftg36c Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Here's how I look at it: It's missing pieces. How close to the original price is it? How rare are the parts that are missing? How much money will it take to replace them? If the answer comes out well below through 75% below the original price, you've done well. And none of the pieces that might be missing in that set are going to be more than $20.(USD) Heck, that Ferris Wheel is so cool, I'd buy it if it was missing all the electronics. In short, go for it.

I think that 15 bucks for the ferris wheel is a great deal. most of the pieces in that set are so common that it should not matter that 12 pieces are missing and who knows, you might for some of them in the 3000 pieces you buy from him. I say go for it
hoeij Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Hi, I found someone locally whos selling this set 4957 It has about 12 pieces missing but it stands on its own and works(the electronics are fine) Price is $15. Is it worth it? You can easily sell it for much more than that. None of the pieces in this set are expensive, so it'll be cheap to complete this set, if you need to. I'd definitely buy it. The cheapest price on bricklink is $123. With 12 pieces missing, it's still easily sellable for more than $100.
Legoman Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Man, you're on to a good deal there! I'd happily be paying double or triple that. Same with the 3000 parts. Honestly, you can't go wrong for $15 I'd say go for it You're very lucky to have a shot at prices like that. If you decide you don't want them, Buy them anyway and give me a yell
