Alasdair Ryan Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 I am needing help finding a web site advertised on ebay (uk i think)it was a great big online shop with tons and tons of old and new lego sets for sale,i just can't seem to remember the site name at all ,it was advertised at the bottom page of a 'lego search' (small writing, s@h advertises there as well) Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted July 14, 2011 Author Posted July 14, 2011 Not that one, sorry but thanks anyway. Quote
mikey Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Potentially it might have been "BrickTrainShop" - they would advertise retired (and new) sets, but you were only ever buying instructions. The descriptions were misleading (although did state you would only get instructions), and returning the overpriced instructions people received was a long and arduous process. They are well known scammers. I believe the site has been shut down now, but potentially they have just changed names. They would often crop up on 'sponsored adverts' links (including on here -which I always thought was bad form for EuroBricks). Quote

I found it via Google search when I was looking for cheap source of LEGO other than eBay (found Bricklink thankfully). I noticed the priced seemed too good to be true and when I looked very closely, it was instructions only. Very expensive instruction and intentionally vague description plus getting refund is worse than puling your teeth out. I believe the site is back under a different web site address. If the price is too good to be true, google the web site and the word scam, chances are it is a scam. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) maybe http://1001bricks.com/ ?? Checked it out, but it's a link directly to a Bricklink dealer. Doing my damnedest to help find Edit: *help* Edited July 16, 2011 by Leg Godt Gud Quote
AndyC Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Checked it out, but it's a link directly to a Bricklink dealer. Doing my damnedest to help find They used to replicate quite a lot of what they were selling on their own site, I'm guessing that's turned out to be impractical as they now just seem to go straight to Bricklink for everything.
