Hey Gang,

As you may, or may not know, I do custom minifigs. But my rule is no paint or stickers (that aren't Official TLC). So I try to do the best I can with official parts. My ideal is to capture the spirit of a person in Lego form. I do all my friends as Minifigs.

Anyway here's a couple of my latest.

Tommy Gavin from Rescue Me

Possibly my strangest custom. If you don't watch Rescue Me you should.

Here's a pic of Denis Leary in the show for comparison.

Super Mario

Everyone's favourite Italian plumber. I think I did an ok job on him.

And last but by no means least:

Me (Mark 2)

Since January I've lost over 2 and 1/2 stone in weight, and gym it 3 times a week. So I thought I owed it to myself to re-do me as a new figure. I don't think I'm that ripped. I just wanted to wear a Bat T-shirt.

Enjoy

All it took was a 2 year relationship ending!

But seriously I just used a bad bad situation to my advantage and got into the gym; while working on my diet. Not doing a diet, just cutting junk from what I eat.

I cannot recommend the gym high enough.

So Vader, you a Rescue Me fan?

I dont usually watch the show but have seen a few.

As for the gym i agree, i go most mornings before work and it really helps throughout the day.

Wow! They really do look spot on! I've never watched Rescue Me (except for some random channel surfing glimpses), but I might still want one of those Gavin figs, just for the looks :D

Also, I can't compliment your 'rules' for making custom figs enough :) Like you said; capturing the spirit is really the essential, and there's plenty of material to choose from these days to try and do just that, without all the 'carving' and painting.

(No disrespectfully to those, who like painting and other customizing things to their figs, of course. Custom molds and such can be just as beautiful when done well.)

Fantastic, I love Mario, and while I've never seen "Rescue Me", from the reference picture you've provided, it looks fantastic. If you customized more, I'd say to take a tan/blonde long-hairpiece, cut it off about half-way, and try using that to simulate the long hair, but very well done!

Now the real question: do you actually have a Batman T-shirt? ;-)

I do!

In that colour/style as well.

We need proof! Pictures of you wearing the shirt with the fig for comparison :-P

I think the "Rescue Me" fig would look better with Gildiroy Lockheart's hairpiece.

Tried it but didn't like it.

I've used it in ANOTHER TV MOC, which shall be revealled soon.

Some nicely done figs there. I'm glad to see that all of it was kept purist, as modding pieces and the like can look awfully messy if done wrong.

A good likeness on Tommy Gavin, never seen the show, but it looks spot on from the reference pic.

Mario is a fav character of mine from the world of Nintendo, and you've done him justice here. One of the best I've seen.

As I've never seen you, I can't really judge on the third fig, but he looks good anyways.

Congrats on the weight loss and I hope to see more cool figs from you,
