Posting a WIP "work in progress" thread?

Would posting a Work in Progress thread be allowed and not frowned upon on the board?

I've seen others post these, I just really want to make sure since my "MOC to be" is not in existence yet, but I think it would be cool to follow progress as I build for this year long endeavor.

Of course that's ok, just don't post a picture of every single new piece you add. I like progress threads.

I would secondly wait to post until you at least have something to show. A WIP thread with absolutely no pictures would be poor form.

What I was planning was to make a sort of story out of it with series of pictures of a "groundbreaking ceremony" to construction, additions, possibly some arguing minifigs with comic speech bubbles etc.

I agree fully that a thread with no pictures would be bad taste and is something I will not do, no worries.
