I recently bought an Apple wireless keyboard for my iPad and needed something to stand up my iPad. I was going to buy a stand until I saw their prices. So instead, some ABS bricks here and there and voila, an iPad stand.

What practical uses of LEGO do you have?

I have some propping up one side of my lop-sided monitor.

I also plan on building an iTouch holder... set up an old stereo with line in for my wife; no iPod connection, so it'll have to use a standard headphone jack to the line in, and it's on the bottom of the iTouch, so I was planning on building a similar stand as yours, but it would be a LOT smaller.

I did a holder for an iPod Touch last year. (though it's long since been disassembled; no pics) No connections, unfortunately, I was concentrating on SNOT curves and aesthetics.

You used those flat tiles for THAT?!?! :O

but but but but... they're so awesome for SHIP cladding and runway strips. /cry

I guess that's pretty cool - I'll admit the cat is pretty awesome :)

The most 'useful' LEGO thing I ever built was some battery 'bins' for the wii, I had a white one for good batteries and a red one for 'recharge me'

Rook -> That's nice holder out of Technic pieces.

Simon -> I suppose I could have used my 8x16 plates.

I was under my car changing the oil the other day and found the 2x2 brick I used to hold up the splash guard. I almost forgot I did that. :classic:

I also did something somewhat similar a while back, though it isn't as advanced as any of yours. My Ps3 was heating up so I simply created four sturdy legs out of Lego to separate the console from the others and allow some more air movement between components.

Problem solved with a so called child's toy! default_classic.gif

I was installing LEGO Universe a while back and when my CD drive is on, it heats up my computer REALLY bad, so I made a little stand underneath it. Fortunately nothing melted :classic: . A few months ago I also tried to make an M&M dispenser, but I gave up after I realized I needed too many of the parts for a project (I ended up giving up on that project too though, so meh)...

I recall having made LEGO picture frames for our family photos as a child. It wasn't anything elaborate, but they did look nice.

I also have a small LEGO stand holding up my crappy Revell X-wing kit.

I had that kit too. I think I had it on a pillar of transclear parts until the wing broke off again and I threw it out a window into a rubbish bin... (And thus began my still continuing quest to rid myself of all the useless, broken, dysfunctional, crappy junk I've accumulated...)

That is a great use for those parts, definitely original. Although, being a city/train fanatic, I can't surfice (which apparently isn't a familiar word on this forumdefault_tong.gif) those particular parts. Still a great concept default_classic.gif
