Ogre Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I hope I put this topic in the right place. Got this on Saturday, haven't seen it mentioned, so I thought I'd post. Apologies in advance if this is a repeat post. Aug calendar front Aug calendar back Quote
autobrick Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Thanks for this. I was hoping for a double VIP point event sometime soon; how else am I supposed to get my hands on the Death Star before it is discontinued? That ADU Jetpack polybag is nowhere as good as the current free set in my opinion (30062 Target Practice), but 30062 is one of a kind. At least the cost of entry is lower ($35 vs $75), but that doesn't include free shipping. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Thanks, this reminded me to go sign my son up for the Aug. Lego Club meeting. Oh and I happen to like the look of the ADU Jetpack. Quote

Yeah, there's just something about the 'Target Practice' polybag...it's the only polybag set that I just HAD TO HAVE. Weird. Anyway...I don't mind the ADU polybag. It's not great but, it's not horrible, either...and I MUCH PREFER the lower 'purchase price', as well. Makes the long trip to the LEGO store a little less painful. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Finally, 3648 Police Chase arrives... About time! Thanks for finding this Ogre Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Thanks Ogre. Hey does anyone know if those SW magnets are the 'new' kind with the glue, or the old ones you can rip off? I agree with above, the target practice is a better set, but I like ADU better Quote
Ogre Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 Finally, 3648 Police Chase arrives... About time! Thanks for finding this Ogre My pleasure. I was starting to worry that we (NA) were going to miss out on that set! I would have been rather bummed. Thanks Ogre. Hey does anyone know if those SW magnets are the 'new' kind with the glue, or the old ones you can rip off? I agree with above, the target practice is a better set, but I like ADU better No idea about the magnets, sorry. As for the polybags...though I LOVE 30062, it's not like I DON'T want a squadron (or two...or three) of those jetpack ADU soldiers flying around... Quote
SilvaShado Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Being a huge castle fan, I wish they had released Target Practice as an impulse set so I could make an archer army. Ah, well. Not a fan of the Alien Conquest, but I'm looking forward to the new Ninjago building sets. I hope the other dragons come out in August too. Quote
Ogre Posted July 10, 2011 Author Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) Being a huge castle fan, I wish they had released Target Practice as an impulse set so I could make an archer army. Well, it WAS made available through Target stores in the U.S.A., as one of their 'exclusives'. Still wasn't easy to track down in some areas though. My FIL was looking on my behalf when he'd cross the border and he never managed to find any. But, that's okay...I've managed to amass 26 of the little beauties now (paid for 20 and scored 6 for free), so I'm quite happy. Back on topic though: I'm really glad the price for the free ADU set is only $35. Won't be such a kick to the pocketbook...though, I wish they'd just SELL them. Edited July 10, 2011 by Ogre Quote

Unfortunately, none of the Targets in my area got them and I've been keeping an eye out for months. They've only had a city helicopter, a toy story army man and an atlantis diver. For Easter, they had the city fire chief, star wars at-at walker and the Ninjago dragon, but those all sold out quickly. I'll now have 2 because I got one from ordering online at LEGO store and I bought one from bricklink. I may just have to buy more from bricklink. Quote

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the "Defence Archer" from...KK1? (I wish I had snagged more than two of THOSE) Do you mean this one (1624 King's Archer)? Sweet set! Explains why I don't remember it...'dark age'. *sigh* Quote
