hello all, i myself am not a collector but my son loved this stuff for years. he has stopped collecting it but about 4 yrs ago he was one of five lucky winners of the solid gold c3p0. he now is wanting to find out how much it is worth and see if it makes sence to sell it and put th emoney away for college. he has the original box from fed-ex that the lego company shipped the framed piece to him as well as you could look his name up in the magazine that anounced the 5 winners. this was about 4 yrs ago. anyway any help directing us to where we could find out a value and where the best place to list it for sale should he decide to do so would be of great help. thanks

My only suggestion would be to put it on Ebay with either a suitable reserve or starting price! In the couple of years that I've collected SW Lego I haven't ever seen one advertised (on Ebay at least), so it would be very interesting to see what it will make! Good luck whatever you decide to do

First off, welcome to EB!

That minifig is quite the collectible. I know you and your son are looking to make some money for schooling, but unless you're really really really desperate, I wouldn't sell any of your LEGO before you go off to college. Too many Adult Fans of LEGO did that when they entered their Dark Ages (times when they didn't play with LEGO), and regretted it later. (unless of course, your son is one of those people who wants to play with all his LEGO and not display it in a box, in which case you could sell it and buy a chromed plastic version later at a profit)

That said, if you do decide you really want to sell it, I really don't know what the value would be. I don't think anyone's sold one before.

any guess on what would not be out of the ball park to hear?

are we talking hundreds of dollars to a thousand or so or are we talking thousands because of the rarity? i've been looking around and can not find anything to gage it by.
