Having branched into 8-wide with my earlier bus, I wanted to try building a prime mover.

This one doesn't have steering (maybe later with some mods) but I was able to include opening doors. Next step is the build a nice trailer for it to haul.

Here are some photos:

Thanks LT.

Do you mean some lights up above the windscreen? I tried a couple of trans orange rounds but it didn't look quite right.

Not modelled on anything in particular beyond a generic long nose. The design emerged from the bricks my now MOC'ed-without-being-built Off Road Power set gave me plus a few other bits and pieces (mainly the wheel sets).

This is a nice looking Prime Mover.

I like the construction of it.

The main suggestion I have would be to try to have two ppl sit in the cab.

I also agree with LT about the cab lights, but I really don't have any good ideas as how to make it look better.

You may want to try some yellow or amber trans 54200.gif with the thicker side to the front.

Nice truck. I do like the wider vehicles, they make town set ups look so much more realsitic in a toy like kind of way. Especially if you can have two minifigs in the cab.

I'm no truck expert but I really like the smooth finish and the long-nose design of this truck. It's also nice to see this in the not-so-often-used blue color scheme. Good job!

I like the overall smooth aerodynamic shape. Was it modelled after a particular truck? It looks like a Kenny T800, with that sloping curved hood but flat faced grill.

The 'teardrop' shape of the fenders reminds me of those classic 'pontoon'fenders found on 30's cars, so they give a slight retro feel to this truck, very well executed indeed!

Just few suggestions:

-the smokestacks should be placed 1 brick out on both sides if possible,so they're 6 wide. I think the current setup is too narrow and sort of blocks the rear view

-2x2 round plate attached with axle pins for the front wheels, or 2x2 radar dish perhaps?

-the 'empty' space beneath the door sills could be utilized for footsteps.

-yes, as some had said..lights,lots of them!

Great job overall!

PS: you're the one who made that Octan road train if I recalled? how about an 8 wide road train? :sweet: What kind of trailer did you have in mind?

Great hauler 'AJ'. I like the long sleek design and the color choice is great. Excellent job :classic:

Cheers LGG, glad you like it.

Thanks OOS for your great comments and suggestions.

That's a good pic of the sort of thing I had in mind.

I'm glad you like how the fenders worked out, that was the impression I was aiming for.

Great suggestions, I've got solutions to some of them lined up.

The pipes are a bit of a problem, I'd like them wider but as it is right now the round form of the back of the cab gets in the way. I think I'll extend the cab by one stud to fit in the driver and passenger so I'll see if I can find a way to widen the pipes at the same time.

Steps, solution for that, don't know why I didn't add them earlier.

PS: you're the one who made that Octan road train if I recalled? how about an 8 wide road train? :sweet: What kind of trailer did you have in mind?

Yeah, that's me. I actually want to do a steerable 6 wide for the road train. It would be great to be able to drive it around properly.

However you can't really scale the tankers without brick building so I'll build something different for this one to pull. probably a low loader for starters that I can put a bulldozer or tractor on.

Then maybe a standard box trailer. Once I've got a couple of trailers I'll have a go at a set of dollies so I can build an 8-wide road train. By that stage the prime mover might just have steering too.

Thanks again for your feedback.
