nielsvdv Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Hi, I have built a 3 speed gearbox, based on sariels 2 speed. gearratio's are 1/1,6, 1/1 and 1,6/1. i have made instructions for it. http://upload.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=476430 pics: http://upload.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=476199 vid of older version: shifting is done with a miniLA hope u like it, or could use it. regards NielsVDV Quote

Nazgarot Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Does this work if you change it slower, like with a mini Linear Actuator? Quote
Bulle Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) Most three speed boxes look exactly like that. I would be more insterested in how you would motorize the "switching" it self, which i never seen illustrated anywhere.. Edited July 6, 2011 by Bulle Quote

Montage Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Shifting can be done with a mini LA or an LA whichever you prefer and a M motor. Not much if any gearing down of the motor is necessary since all you are doing is sliding one portion of the gearbox over the other. Quote

No to steal this thread or anything, but i feel that both of the LA's are too large and make the whole box too big. Quote

garson Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 (edited) This is my prototype of a 3-speed gearbox for TruckTrial (Belgium) Ramacco i remember reading about this but on your tatra your shock abosrbers had a technic half bush on the rod part making the spring harder, how did you get the bush on there? btw i think you should switch your gears around because in low gear thats when the motor is using the most torque and is furthest away and axle twisting is most likely to happen but if in high gear it wont matter because the motor wont be making as much torque Edited July 8, 2011 by garson Quote
