Hrw-Amen Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I have just been viewing the LEGO online store looking at the PAB section. This is because there are a few bricks that I am not able to find enough of on Bricklink, or at least not without going to loads of different sellers which I do not want to have to do. So it says in the terms for shipping to allow up to 18 days from DBM & HRT? Now I have no idead what DB & HRT are in this context but assume it is to do with delivery times. So my question is: Does it actually take up to 18 days for your PAB delivery to arrive, as this seems like an age when some Bricklink sellers give you next day delivery, or do they come really quickly and this is something else altogether? (If it is something else what is it?) What sort of timescales do people normally have to wait for for the delivery from Lego online store PAB? If it helps I'm in the South of the UK. I don't mind waiting a few days but 18 seems excessive. Quote
Rook Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Depends whether or not you’re in the middle of a postal strike! Yeah that was a Canadian joke. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I'm pretty sure all PaB orders ship from a warehouse in Poland, and they usually take about two weeks to reach customers in the US, so it shouldn't be that long for you in the UK. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Unless your order is huge and you caught the PaB Warehouse in Poland at a busy time will vary the time of your order coming. 2 to 4 weeks is nothing unusual for PaB orders. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Oh really? So not good then. I assumed that was just for show, for the odd occasion something went wrong. Maybe I will not order from them then and just shop around on Bricklink. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 My one and only order from PAB was three and a half weeks from order to arrival here in California USA. so yes, if time is an issue than Brick Link could be a better choice. Quote
ziljin Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I live in the US and so far all of my pick a brick orders have arrived within a week or ordering them. They always say please allow up to an extra 7-14 days on top of the regular 3-5 days but it has never taken that long to arrive. But I have only made like 5 pick a brick orders, maybe I got lucky. Lego Otaku Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 One of my slowest online PAB order was a bit over 2 weeks. No one had on BL over 1,000 of a part I wanted and had to go to LEGO. I guess larger size slowed them down a bit. Quote
ManitobaMoe Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 My 3 PAB orders arrived in my mail in Canada (without the strike on) in about 10 to 14 days. I am guessing the larger ones would take a little longer as they do have to hunt down all the bricks Quote
medib Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) I had about 3 weeks from order to arrival into Canada. That's the longest its taken and I've had several PAB orders. DBM = Design by Me HRT = Hero Recon Team (Hero Factory) Edited November 28, 2011 by medib Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I've had PAB orders a few times here (in the US), and nearly always they've taken slightly longer (a couple days to a week) to arrive than regular sets (almost every time I've made a PAB order, it's been part of a larger order that also included sets or other items, so I can usually do a direct comparison). The most recent one I had took quite a bit longer, though - apparently because one particular element I'd ordered was temporarily out of stock (it appears to have gone out of stock just after I placed the order), and they must have held the rest of my PAB order until they could complete it. I can therefore say from (recent!) experience that it can indeed take a few weeks; it seems to be an unusual occurrence, though. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Bricklink sellers can offer quicker shipping times because they are a single person with a small stock, and likely everything they have comes to about 1/1000th of the stock LEGO has, also bricklink sellers can box your stuff up and drive straight to the post and ship it any way they choose. LEGO on the other hand has to have some sort of process due to their size and the volume our orders they likely receive, it stinks having to wait but your PAB order probably is seen by a few people in one way or another where again bricklink is almost always just one person.
