White Cat Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Thanks for the great review. I have mix feelings about this set, I think the stand doesn't do justice for the set like it did in the 7660. The droideka is a so so, not bad compared to the MTT but not good either. There is a highlight for the torpedo because the new gimmick and this time the torpedo isn't exposure to outside, I think that's great. I only owned the 7141 and still not be able to have any idea about the sliding windshield like in the TPM, and the new up and down windshiled in this set is disappointed. Quote
Brick Smiley Productions Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Set looks a bit small. Another example of why lego sets are shrinking in content these days. I remember when a five dollar set got you two good minifigures. It's up to you really. Quote

drdavewatford Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Another lazy remake. If you own the previous version, there's nothing to recommend this at all apart from a different set of figures and an unnecessary vehicle. I'm all for remakes if they improve on the original, but this is a thoughtless waste of time, with no purpose or value other than to extract as much money from us as possible. Shame on you, LEGO - you need to do a lot better than this. D. Quote
Mr Man Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I remember when gas was under $1 per gallon...both gas and Lego are made with oil. Surely it's supply and demand coupled with inflation ,not the price of oil. BTW: If Americans call Petrol 'gas' what do they call natural gas i.e. methane that can also be used to power things? Quote
Strand Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Would anyone be able to give a side-by-side comparison between this and the previous one? I'm racking my brain and honestly can't find any noticeable difference besides the bottom launcher being replaced by flickfire missiles. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 BTW: If Americans call Petrol 'gas' what do they call natural gas i.e. methane that can also be used to power things? Also gas. Gas lines, gas pipes, gas stoves, Gas and Electric companies, etc.As for the prices, gas can affect that in transportation costs as well. Quote

Other than the small change in the front and what you mentioned about the flick-fire missiles, I don't really see any differences... I think you would have to go through the instructions. Quote
