legolooney Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Hi folks. I'm building some Miniland-scale figure and am struggling with capturing a tie. This is the closest I can get to. It would be easier if there was no jacket, but the jacket is needed. Any help greatly appreciated. Quote
SlyOwl Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 That looks a great technique! - I knew what it was immediately. The hint of tan above the tie shouldn't really be there - the top of the tie is normally on more-or-less the same level as the collar and the top of the jacket. Maybe replace it with another of those red clips? (or just shift the whole thing up one plate) If you could use a jumper plate to shift the neck into the middle of the body, that'd also help out, as it'd look more like the tie is actually around his neck, rather than rather low slung. Currently he looks a bit like something out of a Joop Jump advert! Hope this helps Quote

legolooney Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 I've followed SLyowl's advice, and I think it looks much better. Unfortunately solving one problem brings up another. The jumper plate now shows on the back. Hope, this might be helpful: Miniland's classes by _ZeeK_, on Flickr This is great, but what is the piece? some sort of footwear? Quote
ZeeK Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 This is great, but what is the piece? some sort of footwear? According to BrickLink, it's http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30284 Minifig, Footgear Snowshoe. The major problem is it exists in Black, Brown and Yellow. Quote
