Stormbringer Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I'm creating a new series called The Plague, which will be taking place in the Dark Ages (but not historically accurate, if you know what I mean). The story will be focusing on a Knight returning home from the Crusades longing for peace. But after facing the horrors of war what he will find instead will only spread that fear, and will eventually destroy him. Because this story is so long I won't post it all here (the moderators would probably kill me if I did upload all the photos onto this site), I'll post just a few of the images. Go to the link on Mocpages for the full experience. The main character is Daniel, a veteran knight who is returning home after 2 years of serving in the Crusade. But unlike his firends, he has had enough of war and wants to go back to his family in Caen. His ship is overcome by a terrible storm that appeared out of knowhere, risking the lives of the crew and Daniel. But instead of worring about the storm, Daniel is oblivious and continues to think back to the war and is haunted by his past. After the ship crashes into the rocks along the coast, Daniel washes a shore as the only surviver. Thankfully he is alive, but the crew wasn't so lucky. Where he ended up is unknown. Looking for answers, Daniel struggles to free himself from the rocks. Daniel discovers a rugged path, and ventures forward. Hopefully he can find someone where he can seek the answers of where he is. But what he'll find on the other side will be unexpected and appauling, for there is an evil lurking about in his once peaceful home in THE PLAGUE. That's the best I can do without making this story seem too long. Go to the full MOC on mocpages - http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/275373 Quote
ziljin Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Absolutely amazing. The cliff and wrecked ship is amazing as well as the microscale ship/ocean moc. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Okay, I haven't gone to MOCpages yet, but from what I can see and read.....totally AWESOME in creations and story. Detail is just fantastic, you are really making your mark here on EB 'Stormbringer' and keep up the excellent work. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 A very highly-interesting story depicted in brickbuild, the rendition of the scenes are really well done and the whole comic is truly an entertaining read. Great job as always and looking forward for more of these from you! Quote
icy brick Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 When the boat crashed to the rocks I were hoping somekind Robinson Crusoe story, but this is even better Quote

Artifex Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I loved it! Both story AND MOCs! The moment I saw that miniscale vig, I was sure I was watching something from an animation...! Quote
Hoboman Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Great job in combining the MOCs and the story. The poses and the overall feel really work. I am looking forward to the next chapter. Quote
KristofBD Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Love it all the way! I especially enjoyed how you were able to give life to the character through his expressions and movements. I also enjoy the rock and 'the way up'. Great job! Quote
Sandy Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Immense! Even though the story hasn't developed much yet, this is an intriguing start and the wonderful MOCs just make the reading process all the more enjoyable. As a fellow storyteller I hope you keep up with this, there's just so much potential in it. Did you know we have a separate forum here for comics, by the way? It's a bit dead, at least on the comics part, but more story-based creations like this could really liven the place up. Quote
Zeya Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) This is so cool! It's really entertaining. The lighting really sets the mood here. You must be using a blue LED light? I like this action shot. I like how you stuck his sword under the strap. And I'm jealous of your white and brown vines; I need some of those. "Now to seek answers, and to find where I ended up *please not be in France*. Hopefully I won't have to travel far." Hehe. Edited June 24, 2011 by Zeya Quote
Stormbringer Posted June 24, 2011 Author Posted June 24, 2011 This is so cool! It's really entertaining. The lighting really sets the mood here. You must be using a blue LED light? Nope, no LED light. I made the roof completely out of 1x2 trans-dark blue bricks, then added the normal light which made the room the color what it is here. Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Nice idea, that's alot of dedication to makes little MOCs for each scene. Keep it up though Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Absolutely stunning. The details are amazing, as is the story! Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Very nicely done, full of detail with an interesting story. I'm going to do a moc on The Plague as well, however I'm doing the latter epidemic in 17th century London. Great job, i look forward to seeing the rest. Quote
