Lego Man Can Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I have been looking around the web for ways of printing custom decals onto a minifigure's torso, and the best and most effective seems to be waterslide decals. Now my question is, do they work on plastic? From what I have seen, waterslide decals are the ones they use for removable tattoos? If I am correct, then surely the decal would just rub off? If this does happen, what do you do to prevent it? And if it does not happen, then, great! Also, on the same topic as waterslide, does anyone have any video clips on how to apply a waterslide decal? You'll find answers to most of your questions in these two threads about Waterslide decal paper resources and Decal Application. More material about LEGO customisation can be found in the MCW Index thread. It seems you need alot of special equipment for that... Do you know any other ways of printing onto a torso, which would still sit flush with the torso? And do you know what LEGO use for their stickers? Edited June 18, 2011 by Lego Man Can Quote
Mythos Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) Waterslide decals were originally designed for plastic models, fake tattoos was an after thought, a laser printer and laser waterslide decal sheets is all you really need for the easiest and best decals, if you use an inkjet printer then you would need special waterslide decal paper and solution to put on the decal. So you do nto need special solution for the Laser Printer decals? I thought they all needed to be sealed. Quote

Well I use a clear nail polish after I apply the decal so as to protect it from normal wear and tear. Edited June 30, 2011 by Mythos Quote
