Scorpiox Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Hi guys! I'm sorry if this has been answered before or if there is a topic for this or something. My question is: How do you make face decals flush with the head? I have recently printed off some face decals and tried applying them to my figs. When I put them on they stuck out and could be seen as decals a mile away. This is not the affect I want. Worse still, the way they stick out makes it a nightmare to put on helmets! Any help is appreciated! Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 Neither, I'm using photo paper with decals printed on. I do this as I'm worried stickers will damage the print. Quote
kyphur Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 That's your problem... Stickers shouldn't damage print but if you're that worried about it then purchase blank heads in the color you need. Waterslide decals would be best though as you can get solvents to use that erase the slight edge and even if you don't go that route the decal partially dissolves in the water and what's left on the part is thinner than a sticker. Unfortunately the decals are best used on un-printed parts. Quote
AnthonyFallen Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 But if you intend to put a helmet or anything else on you minifig's head, you could still apply your decal on the unprinted side of any head. Most headgears won't cause you too much trouble since they hide the back of the head pretty well. This could make you save a little bit of money instead of buying unprinted heads on bricklink.com and since there always is a few headpieces that we know we'll never use again, you have nothing to lose! ^^ I used every old version of the flesh Harry Potter head that way XD Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 Thanks for the feedback guys! I have decided to use stickers now I know the print will be okay. The problem I had was the decal sticking out and making it hard to put hats on. Thanks for all your help! Quote
