fluffybunny Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Ahoy everyone, I have been loving looking at everyones Mocs here in the pirates section, some of these ships especially are amazing. I have always wanted a lego ship, I have never built one at all, ever. Which ship would you recommend would be a good first entry into the pirate theme? I was thinking either queen annes revenge or the imperial flagship. I am looking for one that I can later rebuild to work on my own. Also one that would show me a lot of the common techniques in building a ship. Thanks for any advice you can offer. Quote
legolooney Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 As far as i'm concerned the imperial Flagship is the best one, due to its size, detail and the fact it has 2 decks. it is however the most expensive ship, but you pay fro what you get. Quote
Dhivael Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 If you can afford it, the Imperial Flagship is well worth the (additional) cost. Best. Lego. Ship. Ever. Quote
Capn Frank Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Playing devil's advocate here, I don't see much wrong with getting the QAR instead of the IFS. The advantages with the QAR over the IFS2 is a lower cost and there is no interior. The lack of interior would allow you to create your own. I believe the way the QAR set is built allows for a gangway and the rest of the spar deck to be built. A simple doorway could also be added to the captain's cabin. Then, you could post your MOD of the QAR set to show off what you had done and get some feed back for further improvements. Quote
