Dan Church Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 This mine, buried deep inside of the Faulklow Asteroid is harvesting a rare crystal element that can be used in computer chips as the only component. The valuable resource is used in everything imaginable, but since it is still a rare resource prices continue to rise. This means that there are many developing firms willing to take a chance on this rare crystal. Display piece #1 for Brickworld, probably one of my favorites i've built thus far. What do you think? Thanks for looking! Quote
Legostein Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Hello! That's a fantastic layout! Also the concept of a direct mining in an asteroid is well thought out. The construction site features many nice details. What I like very much is that you are showing different methods of mining throughout your scene, like laser or explosives. Well done! ~ Christopher Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Looks great Dan! I really like how you made the whole layout realistic by striking a balance with just the right amount of details. The small gaps showing the 'rare' yellow crystal elements is a nice touch throughout the nicely-carved rock formations. Very well done overall! Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Dan, this is wonderful! I love the layout and the asteroid surface! Very believable, almost feels like a video game map, that would be fun to explore! Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Although we've had mining themes before, I think this would be a great idea for a new Space theme. If it looked as good as this, I know I would be a fan. Great creation, and thanks for sharing! Quote
Si-MOCs Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I'm a big fan of rockwork - and this is great. Nice sloping and shaping all around. And of course the little details is what always catches my attention - the little skeleton hands on the elevators, the floaty carts, the control room that you can just barely see inside... great stuff!
