Still Raindrop Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Hi, everyone! My second anniversary is coming up in a month, so I thought I'd make my wife a mini-scale version of the chapel where we got married--Shove Chapel (in Colorado Springs, on the Colorado College campus). Here it is--let me know what you think! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Nice and sweet little mini-church 'Mariko'.....Brick On ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Very nicely done mini-church Mariko, the basic shape is quite accurate with the real thing. Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Nice church Mariko! This looks very nice with the creator roof piecers, I think she'll love it! Quote
Still Raindrop Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Thanks, everyone! I'm glad you like it! And thanks KielDaMan for supplying the link to the picture of the real thing. I used photos in our wedding album to get the shape. Since they're all ground photos, some of my details are a little off, but I'm glad it's recognizable--it was tough to do in such a small scale, but I'm pretty pleased. I tried to do it twice on LDD with little success, and was about to give up. However, two days ago while she was at work and I had a day off I sat down and started building. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 I've been working on a re-colored edition, and am almost finished (just waiting for a few more pieces from Bricklink, then I'll post pictures). The chapel is now tan with a dark orange roof, making its color scheme much closer to the actual Shove Chapel. Quote
chuckie8646 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 This is a very very cool representation of a traditional chapel I really like it very nice work Charlie Quote
