DLuders Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 With the impending release of the Lego Technic 8110 Unimog U400 set in August 2011, The Lego Group COULD POSSIBLY issue additional licensed Mercedes-Benz (MB) sets in the future. The 8110 will be available from Mercedes-Benz dealers, as well as the usual Lego store shelves. Or, will the 8110 could be a one-time deal (like the Lego 8461 BMW Williams F1 FW25 Team Racer, sold through BMW dealers)? There have been several Ferrari and Lamborghini Lego sets.... What additional Mercedes sets would you like to be offered as official Lego sets? Feel free to add your pictures and ideas. Paul Boratko Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) Any new technic set with new silver metallic parts would be a breath of fresh air... We'll probably get a brick version of something next though... Edited June 8, 2011 by Paul Boratko Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I would love to see a silver SLS done in tradition Lego Technic fashion. Quote
Blakbird Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Since Technic does so many trucks, there is no reason one of these couldn't be licensed, although some of the recent trucks look very much like this (or a Scania). Quote
Cwetqo Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I somehow hoped that 8070 would be Mercedes SLS replica (before we've seen the pictures). Too bad that it's not, because it's very similar. They would just have to make the doors differently (now it's more similar to older SLR). Otherwise, I think it's time for good formula 1 car and this is great opportunity to make it. I dont care for any new trucks because they are all the same with these new panels (8258, 8109, 8041, 8292, 8052) Quote
Out of Sight Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) With the upcoming Unimog release..I can only thing of the 2nd best offroader to come out from the Merc's stable, with the same legendary status..the G-Klasse. The boxy squared nature of its design also renders it as more 'brick friendly' But i prefer the short wheelbase version..softop Edited June 8, 2011 by Out of Sight Quote
Cwetqo Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Ahh, Mercedes (or, in our country Puch) G-class. I had the privilege to drive G55AMG once and it was unforgetting. It has 3 tons and will outrun porsche 911 in 0-100km/h acceleration (and consume 40l/100km while doing so :) ) However, I'am afraid that it is not likely Lego will make it. Quote
olaf9198 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) Just as long as its not another F1 car! why because de are expensive Edited June 8, 2011 by olaf9198 Quote
DLuders Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) Maybe they could issue a WATERTIGHT Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Cigarette Boat that can run on lakes: ...or this Mercedes F-CELL Roadster (hydrogen-powered Buggy Concept: Edited June 8, 2011 by DLuders Quote
Erik Leppen Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I don't expect any other Mercedes sets. Why? The Unimog is a celebration set. I don't expect Lego to use this "opportunity" to "stick with Mercedes" and continue the licence. However, maybe if the Unimog will be the success it is anticipated to be, we might see more large licenced Technic sets in the future - from other licences that happen to celebrate. Quote

And this seems to be made from aluminium. Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 The Model I'd like to see in Technic version is MB 300 SL  . But also more recent SLS AMG Coupé is welcome . Quote
grindinggears Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 The SLS is clearly my favorite for the next MB set. Are there any MOCs of it so far? Quote
