DLuders Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 On his Flickr photostream, rottemannen posted 6 pictures and a video of his Lego Technic Crawler Crane. In the short (main boom only) configuration (shown in the first picture below): * Main boom: 112 studs * ~3 kg ballast, 1.8 kg central ballast In the tall (main boom + jib) configuration (shown in the second picture below): * Main boom: 152 studs * Jib: 140 studs * Total: 292 studs / 2330 mm (2.3 meters = ~7.5 feet high) * 0.4kg lift (should be able to lift 4x more, will test later) * 3kg ballast + 1.8kg central ballast The third picture below shows it lifting 7800 grams (7.8 kg = ~ 17 pounds!) Badger Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Sorry for reviving an old thread but this is just amazing ! How can nobody comment on this ? . on a lighter note , how many parts does she have ? Quote
Paul B Technic Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I must have missed this topic, really good work no this. it is HUGE :) Quote
RohanBeckett Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Pretty sure I have enough parts to build that.. however I don't think 'Rainbow Coloured' cranes are very popular in the building industry!! ;) that XL motor at the rear could do with some support!! RB Quote
technicmad Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 It looks like something James May would try to build :) Quote
DLuders Posted May 5, 2012 Author Posted May 5, 2012 [bUMP] rottemannen recently posted this new photo on his Flickr photostream: "Finally managed to lift >10 kg, 10.8 kg (23.8 lbs) to be exact. Complete description here: ." Quote
Burf2000 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I really fancy building a crane. Just not got around to it. Impressed how much this can lift! Quote
