Great-looking battlemech! The overall bulky and muscular look effectively makes this an intimidating force to reckon with.

BTW, I deeplinked the photo so that members could see a better preview for the rest of the pics.

That looks a lot like the Robotech Excalibur....

YMTO00093_sp.jpg

Are they related?

I do know Robotech 'borrowed' a lot from other series, de Robotech Veritech fighters are a 1 on 1 copy of the '80's Autobot Transformer Jetfire (or is it the other way around..... ).

Looks great anyhow, as do your other mechs

Haha. They are "related" because I believe both were drawn by the same artist. Battletech used the image, but just changed the name. The company was sued for copyright infringment and can no longer use the image of the "Warhammer" in any of its games, books, etc. They created an inhouse version of the Warhammer and called it an upgrade, but to this day, there are still legal problems associated with the original Warhammer design (as well as other mech designs). I read somewhere this is the reason why Mechwarrior 5 was cancelled. In the future, I will post other variants of the Warhammer, so stay tuned...

According to my husband Battletech ripped off some of their designs from the original Robotech series, also the jet fire toy (the cartoon jetfire looked nothing like the toy)was also a rip off the Robotech veritech fighter.

The Robotech licensing was owned by Kevin Siembieda (gaming and art franchise)and Harmony Gold USA, Inc./Tatsunoka production com,.ltd.

That is not quite the story. The complete story is out there but for the lawsuit you speak of, see Harmony Gold U.S.A. and Playmates Toys v. FASA Corporation and Virtual World Entertainment, 95 2972 (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division 1996-06-12).

But back on topic: I think you did a good job in creating this mech. Looks good. :classic:

Yeah he Said Kevin owned the gaming copyrights published thru Palladium books and playmates had the rights to the Robotech toyline, also didn't Harmony gold and playmates lose that fight?

and yes the OP's mech is a good rendition of a WarHammer/Excalibur.
