Fuzzylegobricks Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 (edited) I remember seeing this set, sadly I will probably never get it because you can't sign up for brickmaster anymore. The robber car is my favorite part, I am looking forward to seeing it revealed more. Edited May 30, 2011 by Fuzzylegobricks Quote
Vindicare Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I remember seeing this set, sadly I will probably never get it because you can't sign up for brickmaster anymore. The robber car is my favorite part, I am looking forward to seeing it revealed more. That car is cool looking. I don't think you need to sign up to get these books. This is the same as the SW and Atlantis ones, is it not? If so, you can buy them in stores. My Borders is where I've seen them before. Quote
meyerc13 Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Yes, that is correct. These are not related to the Brickmaster subscription, except in name. These should be readily available from most Bookstores, Amazon.com, etc. Quote
meyerc13 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) This book is now out. Picked it up today at a local Wal Mart store, only $21 (list price is $30). For those who haven't bought a Brickmaster book, the book includes 130 bricks, two minifigs, and instructions to build various things using the bricks. Generally the instructions allow you to build 1-2 models at a time using the pieces, before you have to take those models apart to use the pieces to build the next model(s). The book has "seven different building experiences", but nine total models. Two of the 'building experiences' allow you to build two different models each using the parts: -Police Pickup truck and safe -Police helicopter and sports car for the robber -Police Plane -Police Hovercraft -Fast Car -One-person Police Car -Getaway Jeep The first model I tried was the sports car which is pretty nice. Too bad you can't build it and the police pickup at the same time (although the parts you'd need to do this are fairly common). The Helicopter you can build at the same time reminds me of an old Bell 'MASH' style chopper. The police pickup is nice, but it is paired up with a safe... not sure how much playability there is in a safe. Other models that look nice are the hovercraft and 'fast car.' Overall this is a nice book for the kids, especially if you can pick it up discounted like I did. Edited July 25, 2011 by meyerc13 Quote
FreeBee Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 It's a shame we don't have them in europe. Wish i could download a pdf-file somewere. Also from the older ones. Quote
L@go Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 It's a shame we don't have them in europe. We do. It's available via Amazon - I ordered mine from the UK Amazon shop, and you can order yours here. It's even discounted now - it wasn't when I ordered it. Quote
jonwil Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Anyone got any information on the parts selection in this thing? Are there any parts that are not found in standard City police sets? (I think the windscreen of the chopper as seen in one of the pictures is only seen in a City Airline promo set and not in regular release city sets, at least in the trans-blue color) Quote
meyerc13 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I can take a photo of the inventory page and post it tonight. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I remeber i saw this a while back but i thought it had different style wheels Quote
meyerc13 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Actually, there are two sets of wheels included. The instructions actually show the sports car built with the other set of wheels, yet all of the photos on the cover and in the book show this set of wheels. Quote
AFOL SF Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Pre-ordered my copy many moons ago through Amazon. Received it last week. I think I paid $19-something for it. No sales tax and free shipping (if you order $25 or more at the same time), so Amazon is the way to go if you're in the US. Quote

I didnt know that. I think i might get this set now. Quote
jonwil Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Nothing interesting then except that windscreen (and I just realized that I have not one but TWO in that color sitting in my box of Alien Conquest bits) Quote
L@go Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Nothing interesting then except that windscreen... Correct. I just got mine and I'd definitely say that for an AFOL, it's not worth buying. The book is purely for kids, the models aren't really that good and you could easily get the parts cheaper off BrickLink. That's my opinion, anyway, for what it's worth. Quote
sharky Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) That getaway car is pretty neat. There is an opening trunk in which to store the gold. I just picked it up today at Walmart for $20. Still a little overpriced for a City set IMO, but the models are good. I'm just a sucker for mini-copters I guess. I used to make various futuristic mini copters as a kid trying to mimic some I saw on anime shows. Edited October 6, 2011 by sharky Quote
