greg3 Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 (edited) Hi The minifigs that own the pizza shop in set 7641 decided that the restaurant wasn't making enough profit (probably because it looked so dull!!) so they've converted it to a hairdressers instead!! (downstairs still does pizza take-aways and deliveries) This is my first Lego project after a break of a few months... nothing very fancy and still a bit of a WIP but comments always welcome... Cheers Greg Edited May 29, 2011 by greg3 Quote
meyerc13 Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I like it! Is that the old sticker from the 6000 Idea Book? I love this idea, and may have to add one to my kids' LEGO town. My haircut is always the most basic, so I rarely pay attention to what they have, but maybe raise the chair up a bit, add a hairdryer and one of those perm dome things? (again, sorry I don't know the name) Quote
Darth CJ Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Nice mod! To be honest I wasn't a fan of the set (why I didn't buy it ) but it really livens it up. Quote
greg3 Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 Thanks for the comments... I'm not a hairdressers expert either (having very little hair myself!!) but I've been trying out various chair designs so it may yet change. And yes... the sticker comes from Ideas Book 6000 (it's actually a photocopy on printable sticker sheet... I want to keep the original sticker sheet mint!!) Cheers Greg Quote
Mr. McDuck Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Nice work! I had a haircut just 10 minutes ago (o God, I look bald , just 6 milimeters long hair, my usual wear )! Quote
LAKAbricks Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Great MOD/MOC of the the first floor. You're right that the restaurant is nothing special, though I have kept mine. But maybe it should get a little upgrade... I like the hairdressers, you have put instead. What material have you used for the mirror? Aluminium foil? I have also altered this building, but I have raised the roof by two bricks. So instead of having a loft with incredibly many windows, I now have space for a small flat with a kitchen and a living room/bed room. Maybe for a student? - It has not been decorated yet, though. I haven't exactly figured out how to do it. Quote
dr_spock Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Nice MOD. Looks ready for some customers and a hairdresser. Quote

Thanks for the explanation, Greg3. Now you mention that, I come to remember, TLG earlier have produced a mirror. Though it was back in the middle of the 70s, a little before my first years with LEGO. lightningtiger Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Excellent idea 'greg3', your redesign with the second storey is perfect....the floor and service area .....Great work and Brick On 'greg3' ! Quote
Gregorovich Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Very nice MOD, greg3! I like how you've packed so much into such a small space. The tiled floor is great, and I love the little bit where they get the hair done (with the mirror and bottles etc.). Well done, and thanks for sharing! Quote
