Question about 10020 Santa Fe (And cars)

Hi all,

I'm hoping to purchase a set of Santa Fe cars, but I had a question about the colors. Were these sets released in light grey or light bluish grey? I swear I've seen it in bley but I haven't been able to find anything saying otherwise.

Old grey. The Super Chief and cars all contained old grey and the "metallic" light grey grill bricks (1x2).

Yup... old light gray, like the Brickster said... this is where you're going to run into $$$ problems:

Minimum $2/each in quantity... and you need 32.

...or you can do like I did... build your own in light bluish gray using brick built doors. in this way you'll save a looot of money! especially on those rare parts!

Designing your own cars in light bluish grey would definitely be more affordable and potentially more realistic. Swoofty made some good ones not too long ago, they are certainly worth reverse engineering and gracing your (or anyone else's) layout with:

Recently a bricklink seller parted out a 10025 and it had both grey and bley parts. I recently built 3 10025, and they cost me ababout 150 each not including stickers buying stuff from bricklink. The dark grey plates are almost $15 each. I've seen a bley one, and bley looks better imo

I have been lucky to find the misb loco at a reasonable price and going light bluish for the coaches made me spend about 30/40 € max for each one! too bad lego doesn't sell anymore the wheels in this color, but I have been able to order them on time and some more than needed!

prices of misb sets and parts for these coaches on ebay or bricklink are simply crazy!
