Jack Bricker Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I wonder if they will do something like angkor wat. That would be so cool. Something like the Indiana Jones ride would be awesome as well. I guess we will have to cross our fingers. Quote
Commander Keller Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 I think that many of the statues and artwork from the Indiana Jones ride would be great concepts along with whatever else that place is supposed to represent. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 My first choice for the future of Adventurers-style LEGO sets, themes and subthemes would be that they resume the Indiana Jones theme. There are so many additional sets that could be done, and so many important characters who are completely unrepresented in the 17 extant sets (18 with the SDCC exclusive). In fact, continuing the Indy theme is not only my #1 choice for future Adventurers sets, but my #1 hope for future LEGO sets/themes of any kind. That said, if they don't go that way, I'd certainly like some more Adventurers / Pharaohs Quest-type sets. The idea of continuing Pharaohs Quest with a bunch of related themes/subthemes, but set in different locales, like Adventurers, makes me think they should have given the current line a sort of umbrella title and then made "Pharaohs Quest" the subtheme name. Perhaps they'll retroactively assign one. I'd love it if they did an AFOL-oriented LEGO Direct set à la the recent contest here, and gave the site of exploration itself a really detailed design with lots of cool features. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 We already have an over-reaching name: Quest. Orient Quest, Island Quest, Amazon Quest. Simple and effective. More serialising than the Adventurers banner too (they all sound like old saturday matinee serials too!) Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 That had occurred to me, but it seems a little too... well, subtle, given LEGO's target audience. But perhaps not - kids can be awfully smart, after all (especially the ones who play with LEGO ). Anyway, I could see them revisiting some of the basic subtheme ideas from Adventurers with Quest. I wouldn't mind that at all (I'd particularly love to get another shot at some of the dinosaur figures from the Dino Island line). But there are additional areas they could go that Adventurers didn't hit, as well. Quote
icy brick Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Maybe JR could go to wild west to mines or what? No I have better idea something Robinson Crusoe like! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Maybe a fresh angle might be in the style of "Man Vs Wild".....escaping the jungle, treking across the desert or racing to across a polar ice cap. Keep on suggesting everyone ! Quote
Gregorovich Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Maybe JR could go to wild west to mines or what? That's a great idea! It would be a way of making adventurer's fans and western fans happy. I can imagine Native American protectors, like a Buffalo guy (and a real buffalo mould, of course!), a Totem Pole guardian and the likes. I also like Lighningtiger's polar ice cap idea. A polar bear guardian would be great! And maybe an igloo? Quote
Commander Keller Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 I love everyone's ideas! The one thing I hope they continue is the use of guardian protectors. I mean those Anubis warriors from the scorpion pyramid were sweet! Polar Quest - ice mummies? polar bear people Indian Quest - not sure here but maybe some monkey or jaguar warriors Wild West - Bigfoot!!! Indians. the sky is the limit. Quote
Jack Bricker Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Well I really hope that Lego does some kind of Aztec or east Indian type of theme. I would really like to see a newer version of the Amazon Ancient Ruins with all of the new techniques, colors, and bricks that Lego has been utilizing. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 That's a great and very interesting topic, Commander Keller! Although I dislike the PQ theme because of its included fantasy stuff, I could well imagine that TLG will continue this line - I think the chance is 50:50. But if they continued this theme, I'm absolutely sure that they either will release some more Egypt styled sets (e. g. temples and graves) or a jungle styled subtheme. For a safari, Orient or other subtheme I see no chance. Klaus-Dieter Quote
MightyMegs Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Something to expand my Indiana Jones Akator set, or Temple of Doom... Quote
Hoboman Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I think it would be fun to have some Clutch Power tie-in sets. The DVD and the show at Legoland are clear he is the "Adventure" guy. Maybe use him to gather a few of the ideas that do not warent a whole line by themselves into one "line' The Adventrues of Clutch Powers. Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) For the Himalayas, they could go up against Yetis, and killer snowmen! For a new asiatic adventure, they could have them fight against terracotta warriors, as hanzocloud suggested before. For other adventures, an Outback expedition would be awesome, or an Aztec/Inca thing. Edited June 27, 2011 by Parrothead Rasmus Quote
Tamamono Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Indian Quest - not sure here but maybe some monkey or jaguar warriors I love the idea of jaguar warriors. If it were up to me, the next 'Quest' would be another jungle theme. The enemies could be 'jaguars warriors' (warriors like in the Indiana Jones series wearing a costume of jaguar hide), and the 'leader' (Amset-Ra in PQ) could have this headdress. Even better, if they keep with the dark red vehicle color scheme, we might even get a dark red steamboat! Quote
Commander Keller Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 Haha thanks Captain Tamamono! Jaguar warriors would be sweet! I also think a terracotta army of soldiers would be pretty neat. Sooo many good ideas in this thread. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) location: Romania , treasure: Vlad Dracul's Goblet Edited June 28, 2011 by Dr.Cogg Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Idea: Why don't you all try building some of these cool suggestions? While I admit some of the monster figures would be a little hard to build the location/ruin/vehicle to demonstrate the idea wouldn't be that hard. TLG has made a huge variety of printed torsos and headgear and accessories that can be used to dress any adventurer appropriately for the environment. I want to see some of these ideas realised! Quote
icy brick Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) Somekind HANSE theme would be nice. Historical buildings! Edit: can´t do that Edited June 28, 2011 by icy brick Quote
Capt. Bluebeard Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) location: Romania , treasure: Vlad Dracul's Goblet Now THAT is an idea I can get behind. Dracula's castle would look amazing, what with the Gothic architecture and all that. Plus, vampires are really cool nowadays, so it'd sell like hotcakes! Bluebeard, out- Edited June 28, 2011 by Capt. Bluebeard Quote
Ninja Nin Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I hope TLG can develop Jack Raines further in more Adventurer's theme. Possibly "Zeus Quest" or "Poseidon 's Quest" (No, not Poseidon, he appears in Atlantis) or some other acient Greek character's quest ! LEGO can make good use of the new column parts ! Quote
Rhodes81 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 That would be pretty cool. And they could use the cavemen and bones to make some cool caves. Just curious, but does anyone know when PQ takes place in real world time? Like is it set around 1950? the golden age of westerners exploring egypt was in the 1920's and '30's so i'd assume around that time. Quote
