CaptMc Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 This is my Governor's Mansion so far, built in LDD it has taken many hours to get this far, I'm not all thay good at using LDD, and this is the first major project I've done. Currently completed is the ground floor, including the kitchen, dining room, study, and spare room (not yet assigned a purpose). Without any furnishings, people or even a second floor this would cost £167.47 to build. I plan to add a second floor and balcony to the house, (this wont include the kitchen, at rear of property, which will remain single story) should i add 2 more floors? or would that be to much? I will add a few more pics from different angles tomorrow, but for now I have already spent to much time on this today so... Quote
MCNwakeboard Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Thanks for posting. Looks like it will be a fun project. I don't know if I would do much more than a second floor as the price will keep increasing, but it depends on the style you are creating. I don't see room for stairs and you might consider having a lobby with a ceiling that goes to the second floor. (I'm thinking the mansion in POTC) Good luck with the rest of it. Quote
CaptMc Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 Thank you, yeah I'm thinking just 2 floors at the moment, I'm not intending to purchase currently, just building, but perhaps in the future I may, who knows. Here are a few more pics from different angles. As for the stairs, I was originally thinking of doing a big open stair case but as this is my first major project I thought that would be slightly to much this time, so there will be a small stair case situated on the left as you go in, (in the thinner of the two bits inside the door way. ryanrl Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I think that this is looking good so far, not everything can be done in LDD as can be done with real bricks, the unfortunate part about that is that anything from LDD cost lots of money. My only suggestion is to make a smaller version with real bricks if that is possible. Quote
legolooney Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I love watching big projects like this evolve. Posting it stage by stage really inspires me. Liking the look of it so far, can't wait top see where it goes :D Quote
minifig3 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 There is never too much! I think you should make the ground floor brown(walls)... or you could make 2-3 studs grey and the rest brown. Good MOC! Quote
Horry Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 There is never too much! I think you should make the ground floor brown(walls)... or you could make 2-3 studs grey and the rest brown. Good MOC! I tend to disagree. However, this is simply a question of taste Why don't you just buy the bricks you need for brickbuilding this from Bricklink.com? This would allow you to make loads of levels for a price still lower than ordering it directly from LDD-Shop. Quote
Big Cam Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I added a WIP (Work in Progress) to your title. Please use this thread to keep us updated with pictures and then when it's finally complete, I suggest editing your first post with the final product and we can remove the WIP for you. Quote
