legodoctor Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Hey all I am new to this site and am a complete newbie to lego building and am way below amateur level with my skills (from looking at the really amazing creations on here), BUT.. i was wondering if i could get some help. I am trying to recreate my street block. I have two houses on my block that have pointed roofs (see below) and i do not know how to recreate this with legos. All of my blocks have been hand picked and did not come from a set. Is there any way to create this without buying a set? Any help in its construction? Thanks Edited May 24, 2011 by legodoctor Quote
fred67 Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 You mean the roof sections above the rounded parts? Large cones, maybe? Maybe even a couple of these: It's going to be hard to be exact, of course... you could always go with plates on hinges, along the lines of Hagrid's Hut: Quote

kris kelvin Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Is there any way to create this without buying a set? I should say that is the only cheap way Buying multiple sets to recreate this would cost a fortune. Dark red and medium blue from Bricklink. And about techniques. If I will find some time later I will try to help you. PS. Funny thing that I planned to build this buildings some times ago Edited May 24, 2011 by kris kelvin Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Another idea might be a dome build from slopes like this: Oh, and welcome to Eurobricks 'legodoctor' (Did you already introduce yourself in the 'Hello! My name is...' forum?) Quote
legodoctor Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 thanks alot guys. I love the ideas. I didnt know that there were these sort of lego pieces out there until i was suggested to look at the brick link site. Kris Kelvin.. if you ever find that time, i would be interested in hearing how you would go about it. Vincent Kessels... i really like the dome idea you had but i am really not sure how to make that or even what pieces to use to make it. Any suggestions? I realize that it may never look exactly like it but i would like to have it come close. Thanks again and sorry about being so novice (and probably annoying) about this. P.S. i will introduce myself in the hello forum. Quote
Alibabo Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Maybe you can make it with wedge plates + tiles. But I think the make of the curwed walls is a bigger chalenge. Quote
