Lego Otaku Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) part #3741, named stalk in LDD doesn't play nice with reality. I could cram 256 elements onto a single 16x16 to get the look of tall grassy field provided I make sure every other row the element is rotated 180 degree. (ignore black plate, I set it that way to make it easier to see) But if you try to place flowers on them in LDD, it gets collision issue everywhere and I can only place a few flower (#56750, named Flowerhead) mostly along the edge. This makes designing a flower bed a little hard. In reality I could probably use the same 256 stalks and place 768 flower elements onto it to design a "natural" mosaic like an image of a flag or a famous person. Even if I changed it to make it only every other row and every other column, flower still collides and still won't get placed. Maybe a way to set in LDD so collision detection is ignored when the flower head is placed on the stalk, under the assumption the individual stalk will bend around a bit in reality? EDIT: wrong picture for #2 Edited May 24, 2011 by Lego Otaku Quote
Lalror Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I am not sure how this all works using real pieces, but my suggestion would be to make the flowers on different levels. E.g. every other row is raised one stud. ~Lalror Quote
