Hello everyone,

I don't normally MOC as I keep all my sets built but, I saw something I really wanted in my driveway. Since I don't have $16,000 for a refurbished, I'll settle building an 8-wide REO M35 2 1/2 ton (deuce in a half). I used to drive one, a water tanker for dust/dirt control, for a coal company. Since then, I always wanted one. A couple months ago I watched an episode of Extreme 4x4 where they "bobbed" one (took off one axle) and constructed a custom box to transport a Suzuki Samurai turned crawler. It was their largest build with their smallest build. That is my inspiration to build on. It is still a work in progress as I ran out of pieces suited to the build. So here is a play by play of the build. :classic:

The chassis:

With it's future cargo:

The power plant, a 7.8L Turbocharged multifuel:

It's profile and front end:

Finally the drivetrain:

This is all for now, still waiting on a few BL orders to come in, as well as, figuring what parts I still need. Thanks for looking, check back in!

Questions and comments appreciated :classic:

Thanks for the comments 'FLB', KielDaMan', and 'AussieJimbo'.

'Fuzzylegobricks': I hope the scale is right. I'm relatively new to detailed MOCs

Last night I decided to build the prototype for the body of the truck and came up with this. Don't mind the colors, had to borrow some pieces from some sets  . I have some reservations regarding the front end. Its relatively true to the real truck as it has a long nose but, I think I will extend the bed a stud or two to even it out. Right now its looking like an old Oshkosh snow plow. Let me know what you think! :classic:

Additions to the chassis:

The cab and bed box prototype:

Next time hopefully I'll have these pieces in the right color. Thanks for looking :classic:

While waiting for more pieces for the body I decided to try and replace my existing wheels with some black ones. The problem is that they require the four point technic axle instead of the pin. this posed a problem with my original drivetrain so I decided to try a drivetrain with a four axle independent suspension. It works quite well for a first try and 30 minutes :classic:

The replacement parts and modification to the chassis:

Suggestions or comments welcomed :classic:
