Hello everyone,

Today i want to present my Antonov (Or Antonow) AN 225. It's the largest operating aircraft in the world, with a wingspan about 80 meters. Only two planes were build, and actually just one is flying. The AN 225 was designed to carry the Soviet Space Shuttle, the Buran.

This is in fact my second version, my first can be seen on mocpages. There is also my second version.

Link to wikipedia.

Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Germany

That is a truly majestic build. Great work

However, we have a rule at EB that MOCs should in general be posted in the respective theme forum. So I'm moving this to the Town forum.

Hi bIG fM! Welcome to Eurobricks.

I agree with LT, this one deserves to be brick built. But it definately would take some bricks. But after all, this machine is the Mriya ("Dream"), and that we always can do. - Normally, I don't often take a look at the LDD, as I think brick built is much more fun (I grew up with the bricks, not the computer  ). But this one, I had to see.

When this plane is modified to a passengerplane, it can hold 1500 people. A Boeing 747 can hold 550 people.

An Antonov is also designed to land on sandtrack. There're airports where this giant can't land. Not for it heavy weight, but it's too big! It comsumes so much fuel by take off, that a lot of cars can run their entire lives on it. It's massive this russian airplane. Respect to this technology.

Wow, that's an awe-inspiring MOC! Your other airplanes are superb too. Could you put the LDD file for your KC-135 online? I was a KC-135 mechanic back in the late 1970s, and I'd love to build it.

Amazing airplane design bIG fM! I really love how you captured the overall shape including the tricky curves and slopes, and the colored surfaces. Like the others I'd love to see this built in real bricks someday, though I understand it would take a lot of resources to pull-off this one. Still, it's undoubtedly one great piece of LDD design.

Oh my *oh2* That is one amazing LDD creation.

Normally I have to like anything that is massive in LDD  , but this is beautiful as well. I love the turbines! and the fact that you can open the nose is great.

This would be amazing to build in real life!

That's PHAT! Pretty Huge and Tempting! Did you build the interior/cargo bay? it would be neat since the purpose of this aircraft is to haul butt up in the sky. Which reminds me, this iconic aircraft was featured in the movie "2012", owned by the Russian tycoon. When all hell broke loose, only a Soviet built plane can survive the worst of mothernature  Mother Russia vs Mother Nature!

Great shape of the Antonov!

It is not minifig scale, but is is the lines I like so much about it!

Great work, it would be interesting to see it built.

Wow! Thanks for all the comments! I know the plane is good, but i didn't imagine so many comments...

Unfortunately i can't build this in LDD, it's (for me) to expensive. It's possible, I didn't use special parts, and the parts which aren't avaible can be changed without problems.

Total brick count: 6597

Weight 11646,650g

"Wow, that's a big plane!"-"It's Russian"

I loved that scene! The big Russian with his strange accent, that was really funny! (In fact the plane in the movie was a (fictitious) further development of the AN 225 and not this plane here, the AN 225 has no pressurized cabin. And yes, it has a cargo bay.

How do you know this? I didn't write it, have you downloaded the file?

I have put the file online, but be careful, the front windscreen is not connected to the plane. Sorry , i just noticed it yesterday.
