I had a burst of inspiration the end of last week and finished this modest model on Saturday.

The folder on Brickshelf isnt quite public, but I'll post the deeplink for the model:

I hope you enjoy the model.

Hey nice design medib! We have 6 of these "gravity boxes" on our farm. Did you make it fully functional; sloped on the inside?

Can you add a shot looking down from the top? I've had this idea in my head for a while and you've done a great job making it look exactly like one. Great job!

Nice model!

I can see a coupling system on both sides ...do you want to create a sort of farm little train? :classic:

Here in the USA it's common to see a tractor pulling several of these, so yeah, sort of a farm train :)

Back before my grandpa passed away, he used to work on the farm and had his own wagon. It was green color, not a John Deere green but lighter shade. I do remember the side having a wheel the person turns to open the hopper and a folding chute that directed grain from the side down to the where it needed to go. Occasionally he'd rent an extra one but he owned one.

I've seen tandem locally during harvest time but rarely more than 2. I think the state law limited the length and number of trailers that can be pulled at once.

I finally ordered and received the parts for two hopper trailers. If I had ordered the model via Design-By-Me it would have been around $40 US for it. I ordered the parts from Lego Online Pick-a-Brick and it cost $45 Us for parts for two of them. I am sure if

I would have used Bricklink, it might have been slightly cheaper for the brick, but may have had to use multiple sellers (and increased overall shipping costs).

The link below is a brickshelf photo after allowing my wife to conduct a "drop test" (or 2) on one of the trailers.

Yay, for kids eh ?

Great that you brick-built this one at last !

Hope you have more planned, thinking of designing one of these kind of hoppers myself for either the engineering company or the Ford Dealership's tractor yard.

Brick On 'medib' !
