freakwave Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 After seeing no Moonbasse related thread for some time here, it is about time to intoduce my newly finished corridors here. First of all the standard version, streching the full 48 studs: It does need a lot of the bus windscreens, but the result using those windscreens is just great in my opinion! The bellow-like connectors at both ends are compatible to the pins of the standard corridor connectors. Due to the rounded shape and having the pipes structure fit properly (aestetically) the top is two plates above the standard and the bottom extends one plate. However that should still allow the monorail pass well undr the connector! The SNOT is done in a way that the inhabitants can still pass through . As an extension to the standard full length corridor I have done a "half"-lenght corridor to allow for a modular system to piece them together as you need for the events, L-, T or X shape. Of course also I but well, we have the standard piece... The center section and the covers for un-used attachment are not 100% finished yet but that time is coming closer courtesy of BL. Final deliveries shall be made soon, and I am looking forward to that! freakWave Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Very nice corridor 'Freakwave', it's very detailed and that's what makes it look great. nice use of the bus windscreens on the side. the rounded edges on them make it look better in a way I'm sure they would provide a great view for the astronauts Once again great work. Legostein Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Hello! That's a great construction! I especially like the use of the support structures on the top of the corridor. Well done! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Roodaksta Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Very nice MOC Freakwave! I like the use of that support brick for the roof on the top, and the bus windscreens were a nice touch to this model. And the classic space minifig was a nice addition as well. Once again nice MOC! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Amazing build freakwave! Simply great use of those bus windshields for the transparent wall panels. The overall SNOT build looks absolutely wonderful too, impressive work! Quote
-zenn Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I want one, I really dig it. Perfect incorporation of the crates, love the framework, it has a nice consistent flow in the design. This is what a space corridor should look like. Quote
fred67 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Very nice, I only hope I can do stuff like this in the future. Wish I had a monorail to worry about passing under my bridges! It just looks phenomenal... such a clean, elegant, and "realistic" design. Quote
Artifex Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Wow! Very cool! Great work! Impressive! Now you have to finish the base and show us!!! Quote
L-space Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Beautifull and elegant. Nice use of the crossbars for the roof. Quote
freakwave Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Thanks for all your comments! I'm happy to read your favourable replies! Looks great,is it part of a bigger moc? Wow! Very cool! Great work! Impressive! Now you have to finish the base and show us!!! You can never have enough corridors! Those will be used within a bigger base that is first of all due for an exhibition in June and then later for our annual "Bricking Bavaria" event in November in Munich. I am planning/building right now a kind of security base using nearly the same colour-scheme, actually a bit more black. In June this will be limited to one 48x48 baseplate, for November it should grow to at least three. Don't worry I keep you posted! Quote
fr33manator Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Very nice. It looks very sterile and Spartan, perfect for a moon base. I'd love to see it in actual Lego. Quote
Lego Otaku Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Very nice. It looks very sterile and Spartan, perfect for a moon base. I'd love to see it in actual Lego. You mean that corridor in the first picture is made of Mega Bloks or Tyco bricks??? ;) j/k Quote
treeboy Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 You mean that corridor in the first picture is made of Mega Bloks or Tyco bricks??? ;) j/k I think he's saying real bricks not 3D rendering (CAD). Quote
Pandasushi Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I love the design, clean and well thought through. I particularly like the slight inward curve a the edge of each window panel, small details are what matters! Quote
brickmack Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Nice corridor design. The windows should provide a nice view for the astronauts at the base. I like the use of the frame looking parts on the top. Have you made any L- and X-shaped versions yet? Quote
Hoboman Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 The Original poster said it was part of a larger MOC due to be on display in June. Does anyone know if the finished MOC was posted somewhere? I would lve to see photos of the completed base. Quote
snefroe Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 the design is quite nice, indeed! i think the pilars are a bit too feeble, though... maybe two or four together would have been better... Quote
