fluffybunny Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Hey everyone, After coming out of my dark ages and seeing all the great citys and and towns, and always wanting to build one I finally have the space and resources available to do that. Here is a few pictures of what I have so far, it mostly is lego sets along with a few in progress mocs. I will post more details on the Mocs later on when I finish them. I built the tables the city is sitting on myself, and it was my first wood working project so it is not perfect but I am happy with it, and it was great doing it myself. Anyways on to the pictures: Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr on the above picture yes I know there are a ton of mini figs lying there and the tram is not totally on the track, I am working on motorizing it and having some troulbes, I have seen a few suggestions around but if anyone has any good ideas on how to make it work it would be greatly appreciated. Untitled by fluffybunny88, on Flickr So there it is so far. I am constantly working on something and will post more updates as they come along. I have been very much inspired by everyones great work here and wanted to share some of mine with you all as well. My Mocing at the moment is focusing on train cars and a mobile police command center, so no big major buildings yet. I do have a train station planned and a few other things that I am thinking about. Can't wait to get the built and share them with you all. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Awesome city 'Fluffybunny' The size of the table is great. Gives you alot of room for expansion. Looking forward to seeing it grow Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Very nice city start Fluffybunny! I am glad you have most of the 2010-2011 city sets. Quote
Vindicare Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Very good start you have there. I like the layout of the streets and train tracks. But, I think there's a little too much green. I like the addition of the green plates, but they're too close to the streets. Maybe it's just cause that area isn't built yet with buildings and such, maybe if you backed off the plates 3 or 4 studs. It could create a shoulder area to the streets. Nonetheless, very nice start and I look forward to checking out the progress. Quote
ManitobaMoe Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Love the bank. Just actually finished building mine that my daughter bought for me. Very nice layout and i look forward to seeing your town as it grows Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Excellent layout work 'fluffybunny', plenty of room still to add more sets. Be interesting to see where your harbour sets will go to ! Brick On 'Fluffybunny' ! Quote
LAKAbricks Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Hi FluffyBunny! Welcome to EuroBricks. About your pictures, I just can say: Great! One more city to follow There is really space for a nice city there. The layout seems fine. Are you planning any seaside/harbour or country side? Or "just" a city? Quote
fluffybunny Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Thanks a lot everyone for the comments, and yes I do agree that there is a lot of green there. In the area that has nothing in it that is supposed to be a down town area, I have the fire brigade still in the box waiting to be built to go in there, as well as the new police station which will help with that green area. The pet shop will go there also, it basically was planned from the beginning to not be built up right now but as time and funds allow built up over time. As for the harbor area, I am not planning a big fancy harbor area maybe a simple pier or dock. It was just for a place I could have the boats. I will keep you all updated as time goes on with changes to the city, I am looking forward to seeing it all come together!! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I think your city is big enough to have at least 3 different areas. A downtown area (Where modulars, and services like police and fire located) a small residential area and maybe a farm, harbor or other places like that. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Great modern city 'fb'. You're off to a great start on your collection and layout. What are the dimensions of your table(s). I'd like to start drawing up plans to move off of the floor too Quote
