Legostein Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 (edited) Hello! In my ongoing series of original LEGO® space theme minimizations, I'd like to present another set from Classic Space to you. It's the unnamed set 1593. This set is a hybrid of sets 6929 - Starfleet Voyager and 6880 - Surface Exporer and can be made using only pieces of these sets. When merge the names we get the name "Starfleet Explorer" which desribes the ship nicely, and this particular name has not been used for an official space set. Okay, so back to topic. Set 1593 consists of the main ship, with a small surface vehicle attached to the back, and a small radio station. The minimized version features all of these details. You can even stably attach the small vehicle (which is pretty ugly in both, original set and minimized set ) >>> Click here for building instructions! <<< That's it for today, thanks for stepping by, and have a great sunday! Yours Christopher. -------------------- Space Miniaturization Quick Links: -------------------- Edited May 10, 2011 by Legostein Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Another great mini-creation Christopher! I really like the fact that the small vehicle can be attached to the main ship even for such a small scale build. Very well done as always! Quote
KimT Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Another nice micro creation Legostein. It really brings back great childhood memories - it seems I always get sentimental when I see a Classic Space MOC. I've got more than a few Classic Space sets in my collection, as I collected Classic Space at some point. Before TLG decided to renew the Star Wars License once more and thus utterly ruining me Quote
Legostein Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 Hello, and thank you ver much for the nice comments. It makes me happy when these models bring back memories of great building and playing times. See you soon, ~ Christopher Quote
Giovanne Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Another excelletn Mini Classic Space model! Congratulations again, Legostein! Your miniaturized 1593 is smaller than my miniature 1593, the surface vehicle and the radio station are very good also. Keep up with the good work! Giovanne. Quote
Legostein Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 Your miniaturized 1593 is smaller than my miniature 1593, the surface vehicle and the radio station are very good also. Hello, and thank you! I know that my version is even smaller than yours. When minimizing an original LEGO® set I alsways try to get the biggest "shrink-down-factor" as the original models are already relatively small. But now it's time to show us your version as well! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Delta62 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Thats wicked cool, I remember seeing your folder on brickshelf and I have to say its very impressive work. Quote
Legostein Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Thank you! There are even some more pending folders on BrickShelf, but the rate of moderation there is amazingly slow currently. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Legoist Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I was not aware of your minimization series. It's a very original idea and with great results! Quote
Legostein Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Thank you once again! There will soon be a new section on my humble homepage for the space models. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Rook Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 You should post an image of the original set next to it. Quote
Legostein Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 You should post an image of the original set next to it. Hello, unfortunately I don't own the original 1593, but I could build one from the other two sets. By the way, BrickShelf finally updated, and thus building instructions are now available. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
