gylman Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=193849 Latest keychain display system for my fabuland keychains. Turning the little crank handle in the window on the bottom rotates the top floor around so all can be seen. The merry go round also turns to display a bunch of other old keychains. Quote
Asuka Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I like the walrus. Dubi-dudu. But i am a little in concern because of this dude at his left side. He got such crazy eyes.... Maybe he Quote
SuvieD Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I am really drawn to all things Fabuland. It is beyond me to attempt buying them though. They are simply too expensive. I really like this Gyl. The look is very matching the Fabuland scheme and the extra figures help make the moc even more interesting. You have quite the keychain collection. Is it complete yet? Quote
gylman Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. The system guys on top are mostly my oldest and most valuable keychains. There are about 6 more fabuland keychains of which I know that I don't have, and if and when get them they will gradually replace the system guys on top of the carousel. I am approaching 200 keychains. Not quite complete, but getting close. Only the real oldies elude me. I am planning similar thematic displays for 1) castle/adventurers/pirate (about 30) 2) space incl. Starwars (about 30-40) 3) probably one for spiderman/batman, smaller scale, since the total # of keychains is about 12. I still have that massive white rotating one which I will use for the rest, which are basically town and sports figs. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=137846 As for "keychain silliness"... it's just my way of trying to not take all this collecting business too seriously. But it is buckets of fun making these little displays. I seem to never have the time to sit down and make something more substantial these days, so this keeps me in the groove. Quote

Berry Syedow Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Very creative fabuland display there. From afar it almost looked like a compilation of randomly colored bricks due to all of the key-chains. How long has it taken you collect all of them? Quote

How long has it taken you collect all of them? Thanks. You're right about the crazy colour scheme. It was mostly intentional. Maybe "riot of colours" might be a good name for this display. I've been at the keychain thing for about 2 years. Getting those last few oldies, however, is going to be very hard. maybe impossible. Quote
